I have worn this exact style of New Balance hook and strap Mens 928 walkers in size 12- 1/2 since 2007 because of my Arthritis in my ankles and knees. They provide excellent support. I wear them 95% of the time. Each pair lasts me about 2 years. I always try to have my next pair purchased ahead of time. The velcro straps have never come loose no matter how long I wear them. With my Arthritis these shoes are much easier and less painful to put on and remove. The 928 provides good support.

I have used brand X for years until the quality became, shall I say, sketchy, with seams coming undone on my last three pairs. These shoes fit perfectly, are very comfortable, and look good in black. Tread is less aggressive than my other shoes, but grip seems fine on wet pavement. They pick up less dirt too. Unless they develop defects, these are my new standards.

This is the third time I have purchased the 928's, so I guess I'm good with it. I walk a lot and the lower end shoes were "blowing" out the heel in 5-6 months time. The last pair of 928's lasted almost a year to the day... A lot more miles than the other, less expensive shoes. For some reason, this time the shipping took 10 days though! I probably would've purchased them elsewhere if I had known that up front. The price was the same everywhere I shopped. I bought them at Amazon because I have Prime. Apparently, when it comes to this shoe... that doesn't matter. The winter storm may have effected it for a couple days... but I was tracking from the beginning. I honestly found 10 days to be inexcusable and think I should have been told before the purchase that shipping was to take that long... But... I have the shoes now, and all's well. :-)

When I put these on, I was impressed by the support and the spring they put into my step. However, I slipped and fell flat on my back in the rain the first day I wore them. The soles are made of squeaky, plasticky rubber that does not grip wet surfaces. I would avoid them under those circumstance.
