The review headline says it all. The shoes are well-made and the fit is comfortable. Don't know about durability yet, but materials seem of good quality. First use in rainy conditions the shoes did not provide very good grip and I almost fell- not good, so from now on I will only use outdoors in dry conditions.     • A great walkng shoe in the traditioin of the 540 series
Since 1999 I have worn NB 541 through 547s for my daily morning walk. The 840 appears to be the successor to the venerable 540 series. It fits well (I go a half size larger than my other shoes) especially for wide feet. It provides strong support and it lasts - I usually do 15-20 miles a week. I got 10.5 wide because I have wide feet, these are comfortable but they are really bulky and wide, kinda look funny if wearing shorts, makes feet look huge.
