I can’t tell you how many times in the past few years I purchased this 608 brown suede new balance shoe from different vendors here on Amazon and had to return them . The xtra wide wasen’t as stated and the quality of the workmanship was inferior. In my opinion they seemed like seconds or B- Stock. The size wasen’t as stated . I even went to the New Balance store website and for the longest time this style 608 in Brown Suede wasen’t available. I have been buying the 608 since they were first introduced years ago. They are very popular among senior citizens. This vender is the first in a long time that sells a quality 608 brown suede shoe like the ones soled when they were first introduced way back when. So I bought 2 pairs while they are still available. It seems that NewBalance has reintroduced Quality in this 608 Brown Suede style shoe.

My feet were hurting. I thought I had a foot problem. Turns out I had a shoe problem, and the "PETA-friendly" soft-sided (non-leather) shoes I had been buying were causing my feet to form corns ... making it VERY hard to walk due to pain. My doctor recommended these shoes specifically, and from the moment I put them on (again, actually, as I had worn them years before as well) my feet were pain-free. Now I just buy these and nothing else for standard everyday shoes. For running I also use New Balance. Best shoe brand ever. I walk a LOT (at least two miles nightly in addition to wearing at work) and they last me a long time.

This is my go to shoe for regular & work. I have wide feet so the extra wide is great. I do not have to go a size bigger to fit. I have one pair for work & one for everyday. When the work wears out the everyday shoe becomes the work. Also the slip resistant is nice. I have an extra pair in house in case the work shoe goers bad before I notice it.

My feet are hard to find shoes that fit properly. Shorter than normal, partly due to surgeries and other difficulties as a child, very wide across the front and narrow in the back. These hit the mark. I did have to switch out the insole for a more advanced arch, but that's because my feet are different, no fault of the manufacturer. Also, re-did the laces for a runner with a narrow heal, which helped tighten the back. Comfort ++ Sharp looking ++ Breathable ++ Yes!

My husband's favorite shoes. They are the most comfortable and he loves the wide fit. They wear very well. We were leaving on vacay in 2 days and he tells me he could really use a new pair of his #608 New Balance shoes. We went to several local stores and could not find them then looked on Amazon and sure enough....his favorite shoe was available. Even better, they were delivered next day in time for our vacay.

I've always had good results with New Balance shoes and this one is no different. Lightweight but not flimsy, fits perfectly for my size selection (13M). They don't wear "hot" and allows air circulation. Nothing worse feeling than an air tight shoe that makes your feet sweat. That doesn't happen with these. Hope they are still available when the day comes I need a new pair.

I’ve been wearing this shoe for years because I’m on my feet all day and New Balance is one of the few companies that make a quality shoe in a 12-½ EEEE. The shoes are well made, comfortable, and look good, so there’s no reason to buy anything else as far as I’m concerned!
