I think I have owned 3 or these now over the last 5-6 years, just got a new pair this summer, and as long as NB keeps making them, I'll keep buying them. Love the feel, the colors, and the overall look of the shoe. It's become such an integral part of my daily attire that wearing any other type of shoe will need a long adjustment period to acclimate to. They're great for pretty much anything, running, walking, standing, workouts, they're a really versatile shoe and fit well for almost any occasion (excluding high society/high formality attire) and they really work well when paired with similar earthy colors. I work in auto service where I am on my feet standing/walking for 8+ hours a day and my feet are never sore in these shoes, even after I have worn out the memory foam pads. These shoes are perfect for me, especially the brown suede has a nice feel and with some wax it becomes semi water resistant, at least to a point. They clean up nice and have a thin memory foam insert that wears out after about 2-3 months, but put in your favorite arch support insole and these shoes will last for miles to come! ... show more

I have wide, duck-like feet and the shoes fit well in the XW version. We live on a farm and I use them for outdoor activities nearly every day. The brown color does not show dirt as much as many other colors. I bought another pair because the features of the issues are preferable and probably will be harder to find in the future. If it wasn't for the memory foam insoles in these shoes I would give 5 stars. For decades I was wearing the leather upper New Balance shoes. My last were the 623. I noticed leather is like cardboard in the past 5 years so I decided on softer, suede like shoe. I am not diabetic, but always had sensitive feet and toes. These would be a perfect shoe but memory foam is awful for me and hard to walk on. So I remove them and replace with my dr Scholls insoles and these are good. Nothing rubs on top of foot, very padded under tongue. Sides are soft, yet still have good stability. Toe box is a tad narrower than leather 623 or 624 and I could tell from 3D image so I ordered a half size larger than my regular size and fit is perfect. Okay. So let's get this straight. I struggle getting shoes because I have such large feet. So I do a lot of my purchasing online because the stores around here don't carry my size. So a lot of times I have to purchase shoes and then try them on. No, not always. Even with the same company do they always fit correctly. Not the case with these shoes. These shoes are so comfortable. Granted, I have a special insert due to the fact of the in step of my feet. But these shoes are amazing. I've had them for two days now. I've used New Balance 608 shoes for many years now, and I'm still just as pleased as ever. Right out of the box, they give hardly any of the burning foot feeling often associated with new shoes (in other words, they feel already broken in even when brand new). I use them for work (I work in a wood shop where I'm on my feet on a concrete floor most of the day), and they provide great support and comfort. They're also comfortable enough to wear around the house, and yet they're classy enough (I get the brown suede) that I even wear them to church (way more comfortable than standard dress shoes!) I particularly like the fact that the comfort insole is firm enough to provide real support, yet has enough give that it molds to my foot over time (the arch support is not perfect right out of the box, but it quickly conforms to the shape of my foot). Overall, I'm very happy with these shoes, and I hope New Balance continues to offer them without any major changes. ... show more

This is my 2nd pair. I walk everyday, wet or dry. These have good traction on wet asphalt and small stones. They last a long time. I love the green-gray color. The extra wide saves my small toe. Someone said this had memory foam. I don't think so. Its EVA on the sole. It has a touch of fluidity, but is a conventional foam. I had memory foam sneakers. They were hot in the summer, and felt squishy with every step. Memory foam is made from petroleum products and may contain formaldehyde. In 2023 the EPA is banning formaldehyde exposure for kids. Hopefully they'll get it out of their sneakers. My size was out of stock for a long time. Many months. Had to buy a Monarch. They feel as good as the Monarch Air IV for cushioning, and are less slippery on wet surfaces than the monarchs. When you wear a Monarch, they stick out like sore thumbs. Too bright and bold. These grey shoes are discreet. They go well with blue jeans and an old hoodie. ... show more

I purchased ASICS Men's Gel-Venture 8 Running Shoes about 6 months ago but my Podiatrist told me to get rid of them and get a sneaker with more support (I had an injury a few years ago jumping off a 20 foot cliff into water where I hit a bolder after being assured the landing was deep with no obstructions). I researched and ended up buying these New Balance Men's 608 V5 Cross Trainers (the pic is right after walking dogs 2 miles in partial rain so a bit discolored where wet). These sneakers fit perfectly, are comfortable, and provide plenty of support - my walks are so much more enjoyable. I have 2 large dogs that tend to pull often during the 2 mile morning walks so fit and function is critical. Walking the dogs this morning after it rained with sprinkles still coming down proved their ability to grip. I am so happy with my purchase and only wish I had done so earlier. I will definitely buy a 2nd pair in the near future given how happy I am with them! ... show more
