Stands up to heavy and abuse use for about one year (20,000 steps a day, squatting/rising on toes, kicking cinderblocks). Comfortable for 8+ hours walking on concrete, medium weight, good traction on all surfaces. Most of the shoe repels water (the tongue does not). I love these shoes! They have a great combination between style, comfort and durability. I'm a high school teacher and constantly on my feet all day. These shoes are great for urban environments like that. The photo is after owning and excessively wearing the shoes for a year. They are still looking great and holding strong. I'm a size 10.5 and that size in this style feels fine. My feet are supported and my toes are not crowded up front. The New Balance 608 is my go-to for a durable, everyday shoe. The V5 features the ABZORB cushioning that really makes a difference if you’re on your feet all day. They provide excellent arch support and lateral stability, whether you're working in the garage or out for a walk. The leather upper is easy to wipe clean and holds its shape much better than mesh alternatives. It’s a reliable, comfortable, and classic shoe that just lasts.
