    • Great shoes, wish the laces were better
I use these shoes for walking my dog; he likes to pull so I needed shoes with traction, comfort and support for our long walks. These shoes are excellent for that. Just wish I didn't have to retie my laces almost every single walk because they become loose and eventually untie themselves. I've begun tucking the laces into the shoes and that works. A little bit too large. 10 1/2 is the measured size of my foot, and most manufacturer's sizing works fine. New Balance was a touch too big. I order a 1/2 size smaller, and the fit is just right. The shoe feels good, light weight, and breathable. It "lets" you walk, in a manner of speaking.

Always enjoyed wearing New Balance and these shoes are comfortable, every day use shoes. I'm 6'4", 250+lbs, size 15, and they are not only extremely comfortable but look great as well. I wanted 481s but no luck with size 11. Settled for these 510s with only 1 available in my size and color. Good features: Blue and red are nice shades; solid sneaker, comfortable support. Not so great features: Tongue too short, so did not use last eyelet holes when lacing to better secure tongue. Not as form fitting as 481, feels clunky. Too much exposed fabric on toe area, so top of sneaker gets soaked easily walking on wet grass. For $60+ I expect more from sneaker than I got from these. I've been sporting New Balance for almost two decades now. They so comfortable. I'd rather buy these at half the price of Nike's or other brands and just buy some aftermarket insoles. I thought I'd try a pair of Columbia recently for work since since they were on sale and were supposed to be waterproof. My feet swell and the top of my feet bled. New Balance are the way to go. If you want extra support from the stock shoes, buy some New Balance aftermarket insoles from their stores or online. I bought some Dr. Scholl's memory foam inserts, but if you stand on your feet all day they don't last long. Good Feet are expensive, but if you stand on concrete all day, it'll pay for themselves in feet comfort in the long run. ... show more
