I am impressed with how simple these are to use and apply. However, it does take practice to hold thumb against finger without letting nail slip. I didn't have a Kiara Sky lamp at the time, so I used a portable table lamp with Velcro stickers on top, then placed it underneath a table of mine. It worked quite well as a temporary solution. I suggest doing one finger at a time and taking one's time is important - a rush may end up messy. I've learned not to put the extend gel too close to the edge of each nail tip. Doing it this way will avoid the gel gushing out underneath. I keep q-tips on hand nearby to wipe off any excess gel. Also, I had accidentally ordered sculpted nails first. Then realized natural nails are more prevalent, so I ordered those next and did not open the sculpted nail box when it came. Luckily the box came marked with what type of nails were enclosed (both packages arrived on same day). Then, all I had to do was mark "refused to deliver" on the box and I did not have to pay for return postage. The seller was very accommodating and emailed me with instructions on how to return the package. Their website has additional supplies for sale like tinted nail tips and colored gel. I am very pleased with my purchase and will not be applying acrylic nails in the future. Thank goodness I discovered Gel-X! The only downside is the price. I’m so happy I invested in this kit. It takes time and practice but the kit has everything you need for a great salon quality manicure. I’ve done a full set once all the way through and it was awesome. I need more practice but with the right UV lamp and electric Drill - everything went on really well. My only advice would be to invest in a salon grade UV lamp like you see in the salon, because the one that’s provided in the kit is a very small and somewhat hard to use ... show more

If you love acrylics, this will make you hate Acrylics now. The nail enhancements allow your nails to grow healthier and faster since you are not using chemicals or acids. Recommend for anyone who wants to try it at home. Not easy to do on your self but still worth it. I am never going back to SNS or acrylics, heck even press on nails. These will last you up to 5 weeks with no lifting or having nails fall off. Trust me its worth the price. Did i mention you can do up to 50 sets with this kit!! WORTH ITTTTT!!!!!!!!!! ... show more

The gel-x system is really nice, it was easy as a first time user. I was surprised by the quality of the soft case, it’s luxe! Only issue I have is that my thumbs are a 00, but they are not included in this kit, and I can’t find apres 00 anywhere.

And those would never last, this ones have been on for 3 weeks with no lifting, no falling off, no breaking. I work with my hands a lot so I was skeptical about it, but they truly are worth it! ... show more

I will no longer be going to the nail salon. These were so easy and turned out PERFECT almost better than the salon (if I do say so myself). I followed the directions and found them easy to follow along. The quality all looks and feels great and think all the product will last me a long time.

Honestly the first few times it was hard to get it right, but i’m starting to get it and i absolutely love it! The directions are pretty clear and if i needed help i just looked on youtube!

    • Soft gel arrived expired and nearly unusable.
Great product and nails do last. Love that I dont have to file like you do with acrylics. The reason for 3 stars instead of 5 is that the g3l it came with is really goopy and obviously past expiration. Would have liked to get a fresh bottle for the price I spent.
