So, despite this product smelling like mold and being almost unbearable, it does work to decrease the oiliness on my face. I don't know yet if it's effective for blackheads. It makes my skin feel soft. I am extremely hesitant to repurchase due to the smell and will look instead for similar products with the same ingredients. The scent is not pleasing for sure, but it is not untoleratable like other reviews. I believe it is just the scent of the raw material. Instead of adding huge amount of fragrance to hide it and causing irritation, It works gently and effectively. That's all it matters.

I just tried this Neutrogena for the first time. I have fair skin that is sensitive to acne creams, and my skin did turn red but wasn't long lasting (1-2hrs) and irritation was not painful like a light sunburn while my skin was red. I have this kind of reaction with every acne cream, but this was very mild and I expect some reaction due to my skin type.
