I bought a set of knockoff bows and ended up buying two of these for a birthday party. Just get these, they are stronger with better quality control. I’ve seen so many of those bow and arrow sets for kids, but they all seem to be poorly rated and have suction cup ends. I decided to give this nerf one a try because I’ve had good luck with the brand before, and I liked that the tips are foam. I wouldn’t say this toy is bad, but it’s definitely not perfect. It’s really hard to pull the handle back to get ready to release the arrow. My 5 year old can’t do it herself. So that meant I had to pull it back into place and then very gently hand it over to her to then just push the little button to release. She enjoyed it for about 20 minutes. Maybe in the future doing target practice it might be more fun for her. It would also get stuck sometimes when I’d pull it back and release when I didn’t want it to. For $50 I would expect more. This seems like a better deal at $20-25 to me. ... show more

    • Could be great! Except…
I’m always happy when new Nerf tech comes out; they make a lot of great stuff. The concept of the rip rocket arrow shooter is great, but they need some serious QC checks. There’s a ton of rough edges around the seams of the plastic. And the spring in the trigger is not enough to hold it when you go to cock it. By that I mean, the trigger catches on the rough plastic and you have to physically push and hold the trigger forward while cocking it; even then it’s not guaranteed to lock. There’s space to mount 6 arrows, but it only comes with 4. If they fixed the cocking mechanism and added a couple more arrows, this could be a really fun Nerf toy ... show more
