  • The design of this airbrush is super
For airbrushing old hot wheels I found this airbrush a revelation compared to the one I had from Harbor Freight. So simple in design makes it so much easier to clean! The 3mm needle pattern is even and works as you would expect, the upgrade to this was the right choice for me. I highly recommend this if you are a novice user, a very good intro to airbrushing. The really cheap air brushes will make you want to stop and never do it again. ... show more

  • Boyfriend loves it!
I purchased this as a gift for my boyfriend for Christmas of 2021, and 8 months later it's still going strong and he hasn't had to replace anything on it. He has no prior experience with airbrushes, and he learned how to use it pretty quickly. He uses it to paint 3D-printed models for his HO scale train layout, and from what I've seen, it is so much better than just painting with a paintbrush. His painted models look so smooth and professional without brush marks or splotchy areas. He dilutes paint with either isopropyl alcohol or distilled water depending on the type of paint and cleans the airbrush out after by rinsing the paint cup with isopropyl alcohol and spraying it on a paper towel. He's only had to take it apart a couple of times to clean it after he used lower-quality acrylic paints. ... show more

  • As good as Iwata Eclipse
Wow! I'm impressed. After buying several low end airbrushes all with two problem in common, they clog easily and are a pain to clean. I finally broke down a bought $180 Iwata Eclipse, the difference was amazing. It doesn't clog easily no matter the paint, and handles air pressure of 10psi with ease. Most of all the inside of the bowl is polished making cleaning much easier. Wanting another airbrush for backup I saw the Iwata Neo got good reviews and was less than half the price, so why not. To my surprise it performed as well if not better than the Eclipse. I'll just list the differences; Eclipse has a slot cut in the barrel so you can adjust the needle...never used it. You have to make sure the slot is on the top so you don't accidentally put pressure on the needle. Neo no slot to worry about. Cup on the Eclipse is polished making it easier to clean. Neo comes with 2 polished cups one small one with no cap and a larger one with a cap. These both screw off making them easier to clean. Eclipse trigger is 2 pieces making it difficult to install. Neo trigger 1 piece with ball on the bottom much easier to reinstall. I found no difference in the painting quality and it handles sub 10psi pressure. If I were just starting out I would buy just the air compressor and the Iwata Neo as my first airbrush. ... show more

  • A fun new tool for painting
I was worried a two stage trigger airbrush would be difficult to use as a beginner, but it was easier than expected. The flexibility of being able to control how lightly or heavily I paint is very useful. Its proving to be a versatile tool and I've used it heavily over the past week. One downside (on airbrushes overall, not just this one) is the amount of cleaning needed. It's also a tedious process. Dump out the excess, spray cleaner. Spray more cleaner. Probs spray some more. Take out the needle, clean it. Check the tip. Clean it too. I'm just whining now though. I'd recommend this to a friend and would buy it again if needed. ... show more

  • Great investment for beginners!
Has great control and delivers a nice even spread when painting. The cup is removable for easy cleaning and comes with two cup sizes depending on the size of the job. This is my first iwata and I’m very satisfied with it.

  • Awesome worth every penny
I am a hobbiest with an intrest in learning the art of airbrushing. So I purchased the Iwata Neo after I purchase a few off brand cheap airbrush spray guns. Please please please trust me on this, the cheaper ones will work ...IF..... you dont care what your project will look like ,you dont mind dealing with gun clogging or only being able to spray watered down paints . The Neo solved all my problems I was having ,thinking it was me doing something wrong. I am a newbie to airbrushing and still am learning the very basics. What I do know is this gun works great, I can now spray any paint I choose without over thinning , very minimal clogging if any, consistent spray pattern and pretty decent results (for my skill level). The neo cleans very easy compared to others Ive used, So far I have only painted items without any fine detail , I use to paint the same using spray cans with ok results but never again. Here are some benifits why : Pros : You can choose and mix any color you want, water base paints have very low to no odor at all, 2oz of paint will cover more than a can of spray paint so its cost and space effective, the quality of your paint job is much more proffesional looking. The sky is the limit in what you can do with this airbrush gun. Cons :I find myself wanting to paint anything that isnt moving lol. Final thought : if your looking to get into airbrushing or just curious about using a moderately priced gun over the $20 guns, buy a Iwata Neo you wont be disappointed. No I dont work for or will I recieve anything from anyone for leaving such a positive review , I just feel its that good and what a difference it made for me and what I use it for. Buy one and enjoy your hobby or trade again! ... show more

  • A very good starter/intermediate airbrush
So I've been using this airbrush to paint gundams for a little while now, and I overall think it's a very good brush, however, if you are attempting more advanced techniques, such as pre/post shading or something along those lines, I'd recommend a higher quality airbrush (such as the eclipse or H & S Infinity). It could be me, or it could be the airbrush, but it seems to get clogged more often if I'm not holding it down full throttle. This could also be because of the paint I'm using (pre-thinned lacquer paint from G-Paint which requires no primer, a good starter brand of paint), but I don't think that's the case. It's also relatively easy to disassemble and clean, which I think is very important for a good airbrush. Overall, I'd recommend it for anyone who needs a better airbrush than the 30 dollar kits people buy, but only for intermediate type of painting, especially if it's on models. ... show more
