This has forced us to learn a lot about metals! There are lots of videos out there on how to do sand casting, and then we figured out that we could use silicone cake and muffin pans for certain metals. Look for low melting points, like pewter. It’s all about the temps. I had no idea that metal could be safely smelted at home, especially by my accident prone husband, but we haven’t hurt ourselves or anything else yet, so treat it with respect and you will be fine. All you need to add is a propane tank and a safe place to work. The tongs provided are great, and make sure and wear protective equipment, especially gloves.

This is a super nice melting furnace! I'm very impressed by how heavy duty and well made this is. I was a little skeptical as to how nice the quality would be but it's absolutely out of this world especially for the price range. This came very well packed and secured with all the pieces that it was supposed to have. The instructions are easy to read so it was very helpful with getting everything set up. Everything is super easy to use if you are familiar with what you're doing. This definitely functions as it should and the temperature gets exactly where you would need it to be. All of the pieces and parts are very heavy duty as well. Not cheaper easily breakable. Super impressed with this kit and definitely think it's worth every penny especially by how nice it is! Solid 10 out of 10
