Heats up to 1950f surprisingly fast, part of that is surely attributed to the 1700 watts it actually draws instead of the advertised 1500. The foundry stopped working after the third use. I contacted the company because it seemed like something easy enough to figure out considering the few components there are in this thing. While I was trouble shooting it randomly started working again, so new parts were not necessary but they did offer to send them. The build quality is confidence inspiring all around. The electrical components used on the other hand seem very cheap but so is the item. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase as it melts silver very quickly with no need to buy gas.

I bought this a month ago, and this is my third time using it. The temperature isn't right. I set it to 925 degrees Celsius, but after 40 minutes, it's showing around 320. However, when I look at it from the side, it definitely reaches the set temperature. I'm using it to heat treat a piece of steel.

I was using this to heat up sliver can last night to 890 degrees and once I place my can in the metal, I waited for it to get back up to 800. I check to see if it had melted all the way with a graphite stick and when I pushed on the metal slightly the flask inside the furnace broken in half.

This thing is great! Its not professional, but well built and comes with useable tools and gloves for the hobbyist. Better than I expected. The tongs are awesome and sturdy. I was worried… but think we made the right choice for the kids and I to have fun melting cans. We will try sand casting with it later this summer.
