This kit comes with everything you need to start melting low temp metals. I can't give it 5 stars because the lid does not fit properly. I'll get flames spewing out of the sides unless I find just the right spot to place it. Other than that very intuitive and worth the purchase.

The furnace is ok quality. It requires too much additional modifications like coating the ceramic wool and changing the burners to a better design that burns the propane more efficiently to achieve temperatures hot enough to melt copper. The tongs are of such bad quality that they are dangerous to use without being modified. There are several other problems that I don’t have time to list and explain. I definitely do not recommend purchasing this furnace. There are several other options available on Amazon for a $100 more, that in the end will cost you less than this one, when you consider the $300 and over a dozen hours I spent to improve my furnace enough to match the quality of those slightly more expensive options I should have chosen instead of this one ... show more

So I bought this set like 3 or 4 months ago and started melting aluminum. It worked fantastic for that with hours of fun doing it. But tonight I tried out copper. I havnt used it in a month or so but when I started everything was going fine. All of a sudden the heat started escaping and the lid started warping after 15 minutes into the smelt. It keeps making a pop like metal to metal touching when I got the heat going. The popping is the lid warping more and I don't understand why it all of sudden started and won't stop now. Also the insulation wrapped inside the furnace has started spreading at the. That may be because of user error which is fine but I'd like to understand why the lid is messing up and should I possibly replace the insulation. Also is there anyway I can just buy a new lid from the company. I can not find just the lid. Ill change the review when I get a response. Thanks. ... show more

UPDATE* After messaging the seller and explaining what parts weren't compatible. They promptly shipped the correct size part within a few days. Was excited to receive my package. Everything was in the box. Nothing broken. Went to put it together to find the brass torch doesn't fit the pressure regulator and now have to figure out someway to make it work. What I received and what is displayed and shown are 2 completely different sizes. ... show more

It was the first time I bought a furnace for melting metals. I am glad I chose this one. All the parts are well made, high quality except the fragile fire brick was broken but the seller immediately mailed me a replacement. It included everything I needed to get it started: a gas pipe, a burner, fire brick, two tongs for lifting and pouring, fire pad, a pair of fireproof leather gloves, a brass touch, a graphite ingot mold, a PTFE tape, and a user manual. I watched a couple of YouTube tutorials. I started from casting some scrap metal. I was fiddling around with the hose connections. The hose was clamped in but I was not quite sure if it’s sealed properly so I applied the teflon tape around the hose fittings to prevent any potential leaking. After making sure everything was assembled properly and filling in the aluminum cans, then lit the furnace watching the crucible and the case of the furnace turned red and turned to orange hot. My first melt was surprisingly successful. I have learned a lot of about melting. I think it should last for years. I plan to melt some copper next time. ... show more

The melter works great. Gets really discolored after about an hour of use, but it works fine. My weld points were fine and i didnt have any leaks. However. I would lose pieces of the crucible every time i would pull it out of the melter. I got myself 6 neat little copper ingots, so it was filled and dumped 6 times, i had the heat going the entire time and i minimized its time outside of furnace. This crucible is junk. The ingot mold isnt any better, but it doesnt go through the abuse the crucible does. ... show more

I used this to melt 1062 cans (so far) and got 19 pounds of pure aluminum. Very easy to use and was a lot of fun.
