There's a tool for everything, and when you need a flare nut wrench with impact capability, these are the tools for you. Used them on power steering lines that had been on the car for almost 50 years, and not a single slip or rounding occurred. The tolerances were solid and fit snugly. Used an impact [and 2 extensions, and a converter to 3/8] and some Kroil, and the lines were off the steering box in about 15 minutes where my other flare wrenches couldn't get a good hold. My proposition would be as follows: What's cheaper? A tool you can use to prevent rounding flare nuts now and in the future with relative ease, or rounding one off and having to spend hours trying to fix or replace the part? They easily pay for themselves in one use when you need em, and I'm glad I got them. (A detent would be nice, but they're still pretty great) ... show more

This is a terrific array of metric sizes including the difficult to find large ones, at a great price. A crowfoot wrench is sometimes the only practical generic tool to turn certain hex heads because of their location. Some, like these, have return tabs at the jaws to contact with all points of a hex nut or bolt, but these require an access in order to slip the tool over then slide onto the hex head. Others don't have the returns -- have open jaws -- so can slide right onto the hex (or older square head). I would have preferred open jaws for my application but could not find a cost effective set with the larger sizes. This one worked, but with more awkwardness getting the tool on the hex head for each small turn I could get. Return tab jaws provide better leverage or less chance of slipping off or rounding edges where hex head access is not an issue. As others have commented, the drawback of this set is that its grip on the ratchet drive or extension is tentative. In my case I immediately deployed the 24mm crowfoot with 1/2" drive to a very tight spot with limited space for the swing of the crowfoot, and the crowfoot promptly fell into the engine (and didn't hit ground). This resulted in a 40 minute find and retrieval process. The crowfoot and ratchet drive then had to be held two handed to avoid a repeat of the problem yet allow repeated repositioning of the crowfoot -- using a wobble head extension improved the grip, but it was still dicey. ... show more

Purchased this and the metric set for working on older vehicles, including cars, trucks and motorcycles, some pre-dating the all-metric standard. These are great tools for reaching into tough to get spots and turning bolts. This is my second set of SAE crowfoots, with a Kobalt set as well. The Kobalt set is a regular box-wrench head design, but the Neiko's separate themselves by having a partly closed box, meaning you can't slide directly onto the bolt or nut, but drop down on it. In really tight spaces this can be a problem, but working around grease or oil, this is a nice feature to ensure the tool stays in place and doesn't slip/fly off and require me to go through setting it back on (which when you can't see it, can be a pain). Obviously the box design means these probably aren't an end-all-be-all solution, but they are a nice compliment to traditional box head crowfoots for those times when grip and stability outweigh some of the space requirements. ... show more

I had a tight area for a Oil Cooler Line that has AN fittings. I was not able to reach it without removing LOTS of other parts. With this I was able to reach in there and get to the fittings. Saved me probably 4 hrs of time.
