I am impressed with the quality of the improved version. It is much easier to fly and the remove allows my phone to be added to it, which the original would not expand enough for my phone. The propeller guards are thicker and easier to install than the original version. I took it outside and it handled flying in a breeze better also! This comes with a nice carrying case, the drone itself, some extra wings in case one breaks, two battery packs, a controller and some extra screws. The quality isn't too bad but it is made of cheap plastic for the wings and case of the device itself. In regards to setting this up after charging battery for drone and putting some batteries in the back of the remote, you're all set to go. You can choose to use the APP to fly it or not, as the controller works just fine. When you store it you can fold it up nice and neat and make sure to take battery pack out and you're ready to store it for the next use without much issue. Some issues I had were some random desyncing, unclear directions in parts to get certain parts of the controller open and working, and the experience of more 720P quality video/photos than the 1080p. With all drones also this is a bit of a learning curve but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty fun. I would recommend for a first-time use if you're new that you're in an open enough field with an area that can more softly land the device. I would NOT first test this inside of house as you'll likely get a higher push up than expected in regards to your first launch and might break the device almost immediately. This is a VERY fragile device in parts so when i first tested it I was being extra cautious as it's been a while since I have tried something like this and the controls can sometimes become unresponsive making it a bit more of an issue. Overall this isn't a terrible drone but rather a good one for beginners like me to get the feel of it before paying more for high-end and potentially wrecking it due to limited use. If you're looking for something a bit more high quality and know how to fly one, this probably isn't for you. ... show more

This drone works very well. It really is just a raw beginners drone. This is great. It allows you to learn to fly a drone without having to learn on an expensive drone. The battery life is exactly as described, a bit over 10 minutes. It's nice that it comes with 2 batteries, so you can swap out the battery and keep going. The machine is pretty sturdy. I crashed this many times as a beginner and it is still working. I've had many crashes and a few times I expected the propellers to come off or to break. They did not. It doesn't have any advanced features like, return to base, or the ability to identify if you've flown it out if range. This is a very beginner friendly drone. The remote is very easily usable and the trim features work nicely. It has a nice take off and hover feature. Really this is the perfect drone to begin with, and crash a thousand times before getting a more expensive and high-end drone. You want to know what you are doing by the time you invest in one of those. ... show more

The problem with these drones is that they aren’t really quite easy to fly - there is lots to learn, from calibrating to figuring out all the functions within the short battery time that is given - so half the time you have to fiddle with the setup, and probably you can fly it the other half before the battery dies. The only reason this drone is good for beginners is that the price is relative low so when it crashes, you aren’t out a fortune….. The case is rigid and quite nice and there are quite a few extra parts that come with the drone. Camera quality is so-so, and can’t definitely not be compared to other brand drones in the higher price brackets. So if you are willing to risk giving this to a kid and you are okay with loosing about $60 when it’ll crash on its first flight because the kid didn’t quite get control of the flying, well, it’s not too much at stake. We all know that the brand drones that cost three or four times that much always offer replacement insurance because flying can be iffy and often these drones crash… ... show more

    • A bit of a learning curve, serviceable for the price

The drone is fairly small, and looks and feels inexpensive, partly due to the low density plastic required for weight reduction. For a low priced drone, however, the performance is reasonably good. There is a bit of a learning curve to fly these, however, so I think the description where it is meant for children is probably to lower expectations and I don't think it is recommended. Being a low end drone, it has little body stabilization or self adjustment, so the slightest wind can upset it. All the compensation has to be done manually, like a basic R/C helicopter of sorts. There is actually a functioning camera on board; and as you would expect at this price range, the quality is very basic and the image quality leaves a lot to be desired. With little flight stabilization the videos are a far cry from the DJI ones we wish we could take. The fact it is functional at all is already a plus at this price point. Battery life was surprisingly decent, though the range felt a bit short. Overall, I think it's an okay drone if you just want something to play with that shoots videos and photos at a pretty low cost. It can be somewhat fun if you don't mind having to practice a bit to get it to fly right. ... show more
