  • Working great
The dolly allowed for smooth and consistent movement of the camera, which added a professional touch to my shots. The motorized feature was particularly helpful, as it allowed for precise control over the speed and direction of the camera movement. The adjustable track made it easy to customize the camera's path to fit my specific shot. ... show more

  • Not Sure What to Make of This
Ok, so this, on it's face is a pretty neat toy. I say toy because after using it for awhile, I've decided that's what it is, at least for me. The good: This thing is super-smooth. if on a smooth surface, there's no jitter in your video, at least not that I've seen. It's app-controlled, meaning you can have it do all kinds of motions like turns, straight runs, etc. Neewer has a nice app for it. It's dead silent, so no audio is picked up on your camera microphone. The (not so) bad: There are a few items that I hesitate to call 'bad', hence the (not so) in the section title. These are things that are just points that I wanted to make so that others can see my issues with it. It's a little pricey for something I'm likely only going to use for quick, short clips. I have several smartphone gimbals, and can do much the same thing with those, and those are more flexible in their use. This is because with my gimbals, I can do side-to-side, turns, even up and down motion that this can't do. It doesn't fit my camera slider. I wish it did, as this would make my 'slides' more consistent with respect to the speed. It would also make it more flexible, being able to be used in the field instead of just on a flat surface. It's possible that there are sliders that it works on, but not mine. Overall, there are use cases for this that would make this a 5 star product. I had planned on doing more transition filming with it, but find that I'm just not using it as often as I would like, and am using my smartphone and gimbal more often. If you plan on getting a camera dolly for flat surface work, this is great. If you want more flexibility, get a gimbal instead. I'd love to see Neewer make a gimbal, and I'd be first in line to pick one up. ... show more

  • Could never get it to roll straight.
If you wanna struggle with something moving extra slow and never really rolling in a straight line, this is the one you want! Great materials tho.

  • Smooth and Silent Camera Movement
This has made a solid impact on my photography and videography projects. With app control and an ultra-silent slider, it's incredibly versatile. The included ball head, phone holder, and action camera mount make it compatible with a range of devices, and it's perfect for capturing smooth and dynamic shots. ... show more

  • Cool tool!
This Neewer Motorized Camera Dolly is cool to use and experiment with. I've got quite a few ideas on how I want to use it in production. First, what I really wasn't thrilled with: the app is clunky and I never did figure it out. The included instructions aren't much better. I had better luck just experimenting with the different buttons and positions. I was able to choose direction, straight or a large/small circle, and speed. As I work with it more I am getting better at managing it's movement but it is taking hands-on effort. I haven't managed to fine tune the combo of time lapse with my camera and the movement of the dolly but I'll keep trying! So far I've tested it with an iPhone and a Canon 7d (original) and it hasn't seemed to matter about the weight of the DSLR. The unit is very quiet and the motion is very smooth and clean so long as you're on smooth surface. Using an IS lens isn't going to help as that function on the ones I have doesn't work well when on a head/tripod. I think a mirrorless with image stabilization on the body might help there. I will simply plan for smooth surfaces and adjust in editing when on slightly uneven surfaces unless I'm going for the rougher look. ... show more

  • Won't go straight
I returned mine. No matter what tiny adjustments I made this thing would not go straight. Makes it useless for my purposes and too expensive for a slow circular motion only. That said, the quality was top notch and I would order another version if they could build one that would go straight.

  • Compact dolly for video and time lapse photography
As a passionate albeit amateur photographer, I own a number of NEEWER products. This dolly, like the rest of their product line, is solidly made. The design is genius, with sections that fold out and then easily collapse so that everything fits into a small (and also well-designed) case. The dolly can hold equipment up to 6 lbs, ideal for cameras like my main companion, a Sony a7iii, or phone photography/video. The kit includes separate attachments for each. With lens attached, my camera came in at around 3 lbs, and at first glance I thought it might overwhelm the dolly, but the dolly is a tank. I need not have worried. The controls can be operated manually via clearly labeled buttons or via the app. Not my favorite app ever, but it handles the basic tasks without a hitch, and can direct the dolly to move in a straight line or in a circle, though the angle needs to be adjusted manually. The motor is super quiet and will not interfere with audio recording. The dolly does need to be used on a flat surface -- the tiny wheels can handle a few bumps, but they will show up in the video. I have just begun to explore its capabilities, but the dolly is versatile, compact, and affordable enough that it's a worthy addition to my photography collection. ... show more

  • Neat, Powerful Tool, but a bit intimidating to use.
The media could not be loaded. This motorized dolly can be used to roll a camera in a controlled direction at a controlled speed. It can pause for a fraction of a second to allow the camera to expose a still frame, or continuously to shoot video. Allowing the camera to run along a line while taking stills is a great way to create an easy-to-stitch panorama. Having it drive in a circle around the subject an allow shots from many angles in one take, or taking a video of all sides of the object. Alternatively, the camera can face outward while moving in a circle, creating a 360 degree panorama or video. There’s a lot of potential; so much it’s hard to explore it all. Settings can be set from the dolly itself or a Bluetooth app. Ruler for scale ... show more
