This Neewer UV filter is great for my Smallrig matte box. It is nicely made and has smooth edges that drops right in. The storage pouch is also well made and keeps it protected when not in use. The coatings are good and it does not introduce any color cast. This is an excellent value.

Finally invested in a proper matte box for my mirrorless camera rig, and I'm so glad that high-quality, lower-cost filters are now becoming available. This does everything you would want/expect a UV filter to do, and has excellent finish details and a decent storage pouch. It fits nicely into the filter frames for both my SmallRig and Neewer matte boxes. All that for $40 is a great deal, and if I lost this one I'd grab another one of these in a heartbeat. ... show more

This appears to be a fine UV filter and to my eye the equal of the German and Japanese circular filters I've used for years. I'm glad to have a UV for my matte box, which is also a Neewer, and it fits perfectly as you might expect. With 30 layers of nano coatings and great glass, my expectations were met when I tested the reflectivity against another UV filter. Purely subjective, I admit, but the Neewer reflections appeared the same or slightly less in strength, for what it's worth. The case is very well padded and provides serious protection. I shoot video outdoor typically with a matte box on my mirrorless camera rig. My matte box accepts up to two 4x5.65 filters. As we travel abroad in places like Norway and Iceland, I tend to keep a UV filter on my lens to protect them from bumps, or dirt and rock sprays. In the past I've been limited to screen on filters, but thought I'd give this slide in 4x5.65 filter a more or less permanent slot in my matte box set up at least when I've shooting outdoors. So far so good, the glass quality looks very clear and blemish free. The filter comes in a solid nylon case with a microfiber cloth. Recommended. ... show more

No loss of image quality or haziness. No image ghosting or rattling around in the metal filter frame and it's built quite nicely. I enjoy the thickness of it, gives me some security of the durability and life. It comes in a very nice protective case with a microfiber cloth for cleaning.
