Its pretty obvious for the price that this isn't actually gold and if the rose pendant is plated with it, its very unlikely the chain is. But its a low cost pretty thing; just keep your expectations as being a nice piece of costume jewelry -- not fine jewelry.

What do you expect from a piece of cheap jewelry? I love the design, I would buy it in higher quality material if they made it. I get compliment every time I wear it. The enamel is chipping off after a couple of wears though so maybe coat it in clear nail polish before wearing.
