    • No cold and wet feet with these.
I waited a while before writing this review until I could give them a good test. After yesterday's sledding trip in the Blue Mountains of Oregon, I can say that these boots work VERY WELL. In the conditions of 25 plus MPH of wind and low 20's temperatures, my niece's long hair actually froze, and I was wondering if my nose was going to turn black and fall off. But cold feet was a non-issue. That included a quarter mile walk up the ridge to the sledding launch spot and back thru deep powder. The only mistake I made was leaving home with them on, and wearing them all day. After the mountains, we went to the China Buffet in Walla Walla Washington. They have good traction in snow with their deep waffles, but have hard surfaces (The sole) for anything else, so they tend to feel like they’re going to slide out and made me fall. They have felt patches on the bottom, and that helps somewhat with grip on tile floors, pavement, etc., but they are designed after all for SNOW. I could drive the Jeep okay, they aren't that bulky and don’t slip on the rubber gas/brake pedal pads. Next time, I'll put them on in the blizzard, and wear regular boots for anything else. They’re comfy enough except for those hard soles that feel slick. A weird-ism was when walking around in the Sno-park parking lot, I kept getting taller. That's because ice would build up until it was like walking in tall clogs. The ice would build up a good 2 inches thick and was hard to knock off. The good part is they grip well on the ice, which is strange as to how they act on hard surfaces when it’s warm. ... show more

    • You get what you pay for??
Have not used these boots much, yet, so far. First impression is good. Warm for a duck boot. The 1/2 size large buy decision worked out well, nice fit for the extra 1/2 size. Not 100% sure about the sole material. Seems a little hard, needs to be scuffed up for more secure traction. Almost seems like a plastic-type material (?). Hopefully after break-in time the traction improves. These were bought for light use, maybe around the yard during wet times. Not the same quality as higher end duck boots, but wasn't expecting that for the great price paid. Got these through Amazon for less than I could at the Nautica outlet store. Good buy! ... show more

Bought as a gift for my husband. He likes them and says they fit as expected and keep his feet warm and dry. He's worn them in rain and snow and they have been quality boots for winter. So far they have been durable. They are on the heavy side, but it's not uncomfortable since they are a size 13. They are fashionable, they look great with his jeans and his coveralls/bibs. ... show more

They keep your feet dry and warm and are comfortable to walk in, but probably not great distances as they don’t give you the support of a leather hiking shoe.
