Appears to be good quality shorts as described. Unfortunately, I read the other reviews and so sized up for my size 8 daughter to size 10. The size 10 was really baggy and went to mid knee cap instead of above the knee. Not the look she wanted. She was hoping for slim fit Bermuda shorts. I think these may be true to size. Daughter (for reference) is an average height slim 9 year old who normally wears a size 8. We may return for a smaller size and I will update this review. Five stars because they do seem to be as described and nice looking shorts! Edit: We did return for the size 8 and they fit great.

After moving away from our home town, we put our daughter into a school that requires uniforms. Our daughter has always had issues with clothing and not liking the fit or feel of certain material. We were worried that she would not like any uniform clothing that we found (especially bottoms-those are the hardest to find for her). But she absolutely loved these the second after trying them on. They are extremely comfortable, durable, and stretch in all the right ways. If you have a kiddo who is hard to please with clothing, I would recommend giving these a try.

My 9 year old is thin - 11th percentile for her age on BMI. The waist and seat area of these are plenty roomy - almost loose - but the thigh area is tapered and grows quite snug. She has to use her hands to pull the leg of the shorts down when she stands up because it is so tight fitting. But only the lower portion of the shorts leg is cut this narrow. Only the thinnest 10% if the population can wear these without getting blousy in the hip area.
