I use filtered water, and I washed the the bottle and lid prior to using. But I can taste the plastic when I drink from it. I prefer to not use a straw, so I opted for this one to sip from. I don’t like that it tastes like plastic.

This will do, but it's certainly not worth the money. Cons: There is a tiny hole in the cap for air flow, which would be fine if it didn't cause a loud whistling sound that mimicked birds chirping. Very obnoxious in a quiet office space. I still don't know where the water sporadically leaks from. It may be popping out of the hole that you drink from but it doesn't seem to be the situation every time. It's awkward to hold for some reason. I thought maybe, at first, it was possibly better suited for a lefthand dominant person, but I think it might be even weirder for someone left handed to hold. The strap does not come on and off. It's a permanent fixture. It's very expensive for the strange set of issues I'm experiencing. A good water bottle is a boring one. You fill, you drink, you barely notice it because you're just filling and drinking. Ordinary, mundane, life sustaining practice. Uses the metric system, which isn't an issue in itself, but there's no alternate including the imperial systems ounces. I realize that is not an issue for everyone. I am just putting it out there. I think personally I would appreciate, for the price, that they listed 2000ml/67.6 oz because we're told how many ounces of water we should have more often than milliliters here. Pros: I like the color a lot. True to computer image. It holds a lot of water... The top seems pretty secure. Has a silicone stopper. The plastic has a little give, which makes me feel, whether I'm right or not, that a fall won't shatter the bottle. It's doesn't seem like totally brittle plastic. All in all, I wish I had not forgotten my $6.99 bottle from Macy's Backstage, that held 60 oz, in the Uber that day. It was prettier and very straight forward. This is the perfect size jug to hold my daily liquid intake in however it is extremely difficult to keep clean even after washing after each use. I usually get a few months out of one jug and then throw it out and order a new one. It’s definitely not ideal or cost effective.
