Real wood table. Entire top of my table is the "live edge" type where the tip has not been sanded flat but the wood texture is still present. Wood oil smell is strong but not unpleasant to me. Wish it came with care instructions such as what type of wood oil to use on it.

I was leery buying this. I saw some great looking tables and some not so great looking tables in the review. I like mine. It was super easy to install legs. Just 3 screws in predrilled holes. I must say the varnish smell was intense when we unpacked it. I took the box outside and that helped. It stopped smelling after a night, or at least we don't notice it anymore. Value for money is great. Ive seen tables like these at designer stores for double the amount. I think it looks great! ... show more

This table looks great. It is roughly the size that was stated, but it is from a solid piece of a tree so no two pieces are alike. As other reviews have stated, there is a horribly strong smell associated with this product…like a headache inducing stank. I have aired it out (with a fan) and washed it twice. After 4 days it is still unpleasant…really unpleasant. I plan to keep it with hopes the smell will diminish. It is easily the second nastiest smelling product I have purchased. It would be 5 stars if it didn’t make me want to barf. ... show more

I purchased the large coffee table size and I returned and replaced the first one and the second was the same- it is not a ‘live edge’ or even a ‘natural edge’ it is a piece of wood cut with wavy edges in a bad attempt to appear natural or live. It’s obvious by the grain of the wood not matching the wavy cuts and sanding- it’s not even a good attempt at being fake. I give it 2 stars for being wood, but that’s all it is. And yes, the vapors are really bad- it needs to be aired outside for days before being brought inside. ... show more

Cool solid wood piece. Legs fit to the pre drilled holes perfectly. Solid table. Only con is the weird chemical odor of the wood piece. I’m sure this will fade over time, but it was very noticeable in the car bringing the table home. Like a bug spray or disinfectant spray smell.
