Now I’m not a vet, I can’t really say what these ingredients are or what they’ll do for you cat. But for my cat who developed a late in life chicken allergy, this food has been life changing, as it has no chicken in it! (My vet did approve this food for my cat) No more unnecessary visits to the vet to be given a steroid because his face had swollen up. No more uncomfortable face wipes. It completely changed his daily life. He’s healthy and happy. He’s happy about the food, I haven’t noticed any issues or changes in weight gain from changing the food. My cat is very big about cleaning himself so the scent of fish from the food does transfer over to his coat but it’s worth it if he’s healthy. The price has increased about by about 10 dollars in the last year. But this is definitely one of the cheaper options ... show more

Ok; cat poop stinks. But not all food is created equal and the less fillers, the less stink. The cheaper dry cat foods have a lot of fillers. We have 2 large cats and before we switched, you KNEW all over the house when they used the litter box. Now the smell is gone. I’m really glad I researched this and found this food. They love this food AND best of all it’s really good for them so we are all a lot happier ... show more

I have been feeding my 9 year old cat the Duck and green pea food since she was one year old. She will not eat the food from the last bag I purchased on Amazon, nor will my daughter's 5 year old cat who has been eating it for 3 years. Something is not right. Now I have to turn around and go to the pet store to re-buy a $30 bag of food as did my daughter. Never again will we trust purchasing it here to feed our fur kids. ... show more

This review is for the green pea and salmon formula. I have a 10-month-old kitten. I just got him last month from a rescue group. I started him out on a different food and he kept scratching the same place under his eye. I've had lots of pets with allergies and food sensitivities in the past (so I know what to look for), and there wasn't anything wrong with his eye, itself, so I suspected a food problem and decided to switch him to something else. His past food was a different brand and was a chicken and rice formula. Not being sure what was causing his issues, I wanted a food with neither chicken nor rice. (In general, I don't think cats should be fed grain anyway, so I was happy to be switching him to something grain free. He was only on the rice food because I got a free bag from the rescue group. I had previously tried to get him to eat wet food and he wouldn't touch it. So kibble it had to be.) It is actually quite difficult to find a dry cat food without any chicken in it, but I came across this. I have past experience with Natural Balance foods for cats with digestive and allergy issues and they've generally been quite positive, so between that experience with the brand and looking at the ingredients list, I went with this and slowly mixed it in to his old food over the course of a week or two. First things first. The cat eats it. He likes it. Sometimes my other cats get to his bowl and they like it too...in fact, they emptied it this morning. Secondly, it is not giving the cat I feed it to any digestive issues. He seems to process it quite well. His fur looks nice, his eyes look nice, and he has a lot of energy. So I feel he is getting appropriate nutrition. He has gained a little weight (0.25 pounds only) but he is not quite through growing yet, so this seems adequate for supporting growth in an older kitten. (The bag claims it is good for all life stages. I haven't had a very young kitten for a long time so I can't speak directly to that.) And, most importantly, now that he has been on this food exclusively for a little while now, he has stopped scratching under his eye and it is healing up. Other items of interest: this has a fishy smell when you open the bag but that dissipates after the bag is open. Also, the bag does not appear to be resealable so you may want a clip or a separate storage container for it. (I have the 5 pound bag. I don't know how the larger bags are but since this trial was a success, I'll go up to a larger bag for next time.) ... show more

I bought the venison. I am trying to find out what is making one of my cats itch so bad. She also throws up with some foods. I wanted a new protein source like venison also need no corn, rice, wheat, eggs, dairy or chicken. I also wanted a disc shaped food. All of that in one food is Very hard to find. This one meets all of that. The only thing I do not really like is that peas are the first ingredient, but if you have ever tried to find one that doesn't have alot of peas that is impossible. I was willing to give this food a try. So far no throwing up which is great. Only time will tell about the itching. I also found a good venison canned food so hopefully that helps too. All 4 of my kiity's like this brand of food also. ... show more

My cat loved this exact food when I bought it from Petco last month but then I bought the next bag on here and now she won’t eat eat it. She is a cat so I can’t be sure but the kibbles do look a bit different. Maybe they changed the formula in the last few months but I’m stuck with a bag of food my cat won’t eat. ... show more
