I bought this looking for a deal. I have 5 cats and they're not cheap to feed, but this food is reasonably priced. My cats have been on it for a month, now, and I've noticed some pretty impressive changes. My 8 year old boy's coat is smoother and shinier. My 1 year old twins have so much more energy and are constantly playing (to the point that they're almost annoying 😅). Neither of these things were true when I had them on the store brand version of this food. I will update if anything changes, but for now I'm extremely happy with this food. ... show more

Update Sept 2022: We are now several months out from starting this food & still NO diarrhea at all. Every bag I’ve ordered has been fine, no issues. My cat seems to like it, so we will continue to stick with this food. We have also since introduced a few different poultry free treats. My cat has had chronic diarrhea ever since we got him 6 months ago. He is now 9 months old. We tried many different things: fecal tests, special food, bottled water only, no treats, expensive probiotic powder, antibiotics, dewormer etc. I kind of suspected it was the chicken/poultry causing it after giving him plain chicken breast once & him being affected by just that. Well, I am happy to report that kitty has been diarrhea free for 4 whole days now! After that first meal, that was it! This is the longest he’s went! So, it’s either chicken or some ingredient that the previous foods had & this one doesn’t. Who knows, but we’ll definitely stick with this food. The bag of food we received looks fine, smells fine (for cat food), and it’s a huge bag. It’s actually a bit cheaper than the one he was on previously. I haven’t gotten to the bottom yet to see any crumbs (like mentioned in other reviews), but I’ll deal with that if it means no more suffering for my cat. Overall, very impressed. ... show more

    • Excellent Choice for Allergic Cats - Any cats! From Amazon!

I have two large male cats who are both big eaters. Although they have both been fed a good quality, veterinarian recommended, pet store specialty kibble forever, one cat has been pulling out his hair, literally, for several months. Poor Toby Cat had become almost bald! He required continuous steroid shots in an attempt to control this problem. The other cat is a mostly Maine Coon with a bushy coat, which was rather scruffy and dull in appearance, despite brushing. I researched the entire cat problem sections on the internet, and finally decided to try Natural Balance Green Pea and Duck LID dry cat food, which I immediately ordered from Amazon. This food contains none of the usual fillers, and proteins are not ones usually encountered in other foods - major allergy inducers, especially after years of ingestion, as are grains, which are not to be found in this food. Also, most cats seem to need less of the Green Pea and Duck formula to feel satisfied. Amazingly, my Toby looks and behaves like a different cat! As does my Coon Kitty! They both now have full, shiny coats, have ceased the constant scratching and most of the constant licking (that's Toby, a diagnosed OCD). And although I did not realize this, both cats had become somewhat overweight. Both cats have lost about two pounds - they were 20+ pounders before - big boned boys, too. Now, they're both slim, trim, and more energetic! Toby has a far better disposition, since he's not concerned with his constant Natural Balance Dry Cat Food, Limited Ingredient Diet Green Pea and Duck Formula, 10 Pound Bag discomfort, which is gone. Natural Balance Green Pea and Duck dry cat food has been a bit of magic for my cats and for me! This food would be a blessing to any cat. It's healthy! And for a cat experiencing allergies of any kind, it's a must! I wrote Natural Balance and thanked the company for restoring my cats. I thank Amazon for offering it at a reasonable price and getting it here promptly! Winners, all! ... show more

It's seems to be very crunchy and I imagine that is good for their teeth. Added benefit, crunchieness slows the speed in which they eat it! Switched from Hills due to price and because I wanted to try limited ingredients because on occasion my kitties have loose BM, so far so good! Toffee & Licorice approved ... show more

Both my Siamese have IBD. They can't have anything chicken. Norman is on Royal Canin canned Rabbit so is Mooshu. They were both used to getting a 1/4 cup dry at bedtime and miss that. Norman can eat the Royal Canin venison dry or rabbit dry but Mooshu throws it up all the time. In fact, any RX dry hydrolyzed protein makes him vomit. They only thing they all have in common is the soy, but that is not supposed to make them sick because of the way it it processed. Regardless, he gets sick from it. However, he is perfectly fine with this and they both love the taste and I end up giving them it as a treat during the day as well. I will be ordering it again in a bigger bag. ... show more
