I love these hooks. I’ve ordered 3 packs already. We used on drywall ceiling to hang 3 light fixtures and a cool monkey that was my grandmas. Insert the super long screw through the base of the hook. Then add the metal butterfly clip to the end of the screw. Drill a large enough hole so that the butterfly clip will go through (when folded shut). Push the clip that’s attached to the screw through the hole you’ve drilled. Then simply apply a little pressure to the hook base and tighten the screw. It also includes screws that go directly into wood. I like that these move and swivel to the direction you desire. Good price too! ... show more

It took me longer to find the exact place I wanted than it took me to install these. I used my own drywall screws of the same length with coarse thread because they are just what I prefer for basically any kind of mounting. I mounted these into siding with a wood beam beneath. They seem to be very sturdy and the hook clips in with no way for it to come out unless weight is removed from it and it is pushed upward in just the right place. Top quality cast, swival hooks! I bought these for my porch to hang very heavy, wrought iron, hanging baskets. I have 30 lb wrought iron baskets (empty weight) with ferns hanging on them. The swivel makes it so easy to water and rotate the plants! I wish I had found these years ago! I bought several and plan to buy several more. Couldn't be more pleased! I bought some cast iron S hooks and the wrought iron baskets; all of the hanging basket supplies at Amazon. They all work great together! The heavy hanging baskets would not be manageable without the swivel hooks! These are so well made & can hold very heavy plants. In 2019 & 2020 I have purchased enough hooks for all of my hanging plants, solar lights & windchimes on the patio. Love them! ... show more

I have these for use for my hanging plants, and I prefer large, flowing, heavy baskets of plants. I installed them with my own wood screws into studs, they're absolutely perfect for rotating for sun exposure or getting that perfect angle. The best BEST ceiling hook ever, I bought 3 sets and when I finally use the last one I'll probably order 3 more to keep in the drawer in case I bring home another hanging basket! Ignore the installation and screw issues. If you know what you're doing enough to hang something from the ceiling yourself, you should have the facilities to figure out what your ceiling needs to make it work! Just use your own screws, a stud finder, and a power drill and you're all set ... show more

It’s holding a 10lb planter in this pic. I really hated all those ornamental designed hooks and just wanted a basic more contemporary looking one. Had issues finding studs with screw in hooks, so this worked great. You do have to drill a fairly substantial hole in your ceiling to get the springy thingy at the top in (maybe slightly less than 1/2 inch) and should definitely get a stud finder as this hook needs to be in the dry wall, but the hole is completely covered by the base so you can’t even see it and it still feels secure. ... show more

Awesome product. Finding anything like this at hardware stores was such a joke that I paid to overnight a second pair when I realized where my beams were required four. The swivel lets you control when the hook part comes out, which means you can hang a chain between two and orient them in a way that they can't wiggle out. The screws weren't quite long enough to get a good grip into the wood through my drywall, but I found some suitable ones laying around. I also found one of these hooks installed in my home via the swag thing. It feels strong enough, but if you remove the base there's large hole created by the anchor part. ... show more

These hooks come with everything you need for normal installation. They are easy to install, look very nice and seem quite sturdy. My application required a longer wood screw because of the location, but no negative on the hardware, just an odd location going through soffit.
