  • Suncatcher solar system
I hope my granddaughter really enjoys this.

  • Really a fun project!
I bought this for my planet obsessed kiddo and we had a great time working together to paint and hang these as a mobile! It's a wonderful value, considering all the included extras, and the amount of family time it facilitated. I especially loved the included booklet with all the planet information--nothing my kiddo didn't know, but lots of new facts for me!!! The paints were great and we had some left over. I would say there's enough for much messier painters than we were. My kiddo is 6 and was able to work on this without a problem. I would say that any elementary aged kids that are interested in space would be a great audience for this kit. Would make a great gift, too--all we had to add was scotch tape for the mobile! ... show more

  • Messy
Be careful when using this as it will destroy your clothing or furniture. Make sure you line your work area. Colors are very muted

  • Okay
Very basic, paints are very hard to apply and smell terrible… not much information about the solar system. Whole kit was a let down.

  • Doesn’t glow in the dark
The strings to hang them kept getting tangled up. Had to dig and put something to keep it from tangling around. After all the effort looks great when hanging but not even a small glow in the dark. Disappointing

  • Mobile is really hard to figure out and use.
My 10 year old daughter loves every type of art out there. She really enjoyed this stained glass art kit. We both found the National Geographic educational material incredibly informative, and we both learned new things with it. The paints were easy to use and paint onto the planets. My daughter is a bit of a perfectionist, so it took her a bit of time to paint them just the way she wanted it, but that's what made it fun! I appreciate the board for the solar system to hang on the fishing line as a mobile, it even lists where each planet and sun should go, that way there is no mistake. I found it really difficult to use the mobile that came with the set, and I am very appreciative of the ability to use the suction cups to attach the planets and sun to the window. That seemed to be what needed to be done since the mobile was so hard to figure out and handle. I feel that the price is fair for this particular National Geographic set and my daughter and I had so much fun doing it together, which is priceless to me! ... show more

  • Taking a break from screen time
My granddaughters enjoyed being creative decorating the the sun and planets. The included booklet was informative. They each choose the ones they wanted to paint and got to work. There was no arguing. They were completely engaged. After a day of drying they decided that rather than making a mobile they would rather use the suction cups to hang their creations in their bedroom windows. The paints were easy to dispense from the tubes. It cleaned up with water. I had to supply an additional paint brush so they could work on the project together. I was thrilled that I found something that interested the both of them (ages 9 & 14) and kept them from moving on to something else before completion. ... show more
