I had a blank wall nook for nearly a year- and I finally took a chance with Nathan James floating shelves and I am not disappointed. Very study, looks expensive and easy to put together and install. It took me neatly an hour from unpackaging to instal and I am a slow poke when it comes to these DIY installations. I found it on Amazon for 30 dollars less than their website which is always a bonus. It comes in 3 different finishes dark oak, light oak and white. You may attach to a wall like I did and use it on the floor unit. You can easily buy more than one bookcase and get creative to make a nice statement piece. The shelves are adjustable and you can hang it vertically or horizontally. My ceiling is 9 foot tall - It is a lovely affordable shelving unit. ... show more

Just installed this bookshelf in our remodeled living room and it looks fantastic! Now all that's left is adding decorations. This was, by far, the EASIEST piece of furniture I've ever assembled! Love it and will definitely purchase more furniture by Nathan James.

Love this bookshelf! It is such a statement on the wall. Whenever guests come over they always comment on this piece. It is minimalistic and clean. Very easy to install and is sturdy on the wall with the use of wall anchors. Looks more expensive than it was. The only thing that cheapens the look is the screw holes. I wish the product came with something to either cover or hide the holes. I’m thinking of putting a black sticker on the wall underneath the screw hole just so it isn’t obvious. Besides the design, I have to mention how amazing the customer service experience was. The bookshelf came slightly damaged. One of the brackets was slightly bent and there was a little wood stain on one of the shelves. I called their company directly and they were so gracious in either offering me a store credit or a replacement at no extra cost. My replacement arrived within two weeks and the customer service rep, Nathan, even followed up to make sure it got to me. Weeks later, to my surprise, I received a box of Godiva chocolates as an apology gift from the company. What?!!! This is the first review I have ever written for a product but just wanted to share what a great experience it was. They made me feel valued and go the extra mile to make sure things are right. I won’t hesitate to buy from Nathan James again. In fact, I already own the nesting coffee table set and love it! I have too many books & not enough space for bookshelves. Enter this floating bookshelf! I had wall space but not floor space available. This floating bookshelf is high-quality and modern looking. Easy to assemble and mount on the wall. My friend who helped me put it together was originally skeptical about it holding so many books, but as we went through the installation process & hung it on the wall, he was impressed by its sturdiness and said by the end he felt very comfortable with its ability to hold all of my books with no issue. It's super easy to put together, quality construction! Nice heavy wood. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is bc the mounting holes are "keyholes" instead of solid circles like they were on the desk model. This makes mounting perfectly straight to align flush with the desk VERY tricky, and requires two people to install as a result. Why the manufacturing inconsistency?? It was difficult to mount flawlessly, but once you get it in, it's a perfect quality space saver for small spaces. Doesn't feel or look "cheapy". Modern minimalist look and feel. ... show more

I love these shelves, they turned out perfect for what I had in mind. I was able to assemble them myself, but my husband was the one who hung them up I don’t think I could have myself. The instructions seemed easy to follow, it was difficult to get them to line up properly but that’s not a problem with the shelves or instructions (our house is old and not everything is precisely leveled.) They seem very sturdy and look great, I’m considering getting more for the bathroom. So definitely would purchase again. They did come with the adhesive pads already on the bottom for if you want to use them as floor shelves, so it kind of looks a little funny since we hung them, but customer service was very quick and helpful in responding with suggestions of how to take them off without damaging the shelves, I just haven’t had a chance to try them yet. ... show more

I got these to hang above the the buffet in my family room. They were easy to put together and hang on the wall. I did it by myself in a couple of hours. For the price they are great quality. Some reviewers have commented that the gold hardware finish is not great but if you wanted a different finish, a $5 can of spray paint would be an easy change.
