Review for Duvet cover: I was really excited to try this duvet (which is basically a washable cover for the comforter with no insert). While I have done some research on this was the first one I bought for my bed. It felt soft and printed well and looked like it was good quality but I never took it out of the package because it smelled. Apparently, there was someone that said it smelled and another that said it didn't. I am another one that receive the duvet cover that had a strong smell. While it may remove the smell with washing, I just don't have the time to take that chance. What a DUVET COVER is: A DUVER COVER (sometimes seen a comforter cover) is described as two sheet sewn together which is not sewn in one end but closed with a zipper, ties, buttons, or some fashion like that. It is similar putting a pillow case on a pillow to protect the pillow from sweat and other stuff. The Duvet cover does the same thing to protect the comforter/insert which allows you to wash the cover without having to worry about the bulky the part of the comforter which is referred to as an insert. Having a separate cover also lets you change your cover style/pattern while saving room in your linen closet by just storing the cover and reusing the bulky part of the bedding. A duvet cover is great for those people who change they bedding style often….. Or for kids who go through different "I like" stages, and people who have pets that want to clean their top bedding regularly. The INSERT(bulky section) is the part that makes it fluffy or warm. Having a separate insert allows you not only to keep it clean but to also change how warm you need it base on the season and to your personal warmth desire. You can also choose your type of filling (synthetic/feathers). Usually the INSERT has a piece in the corner that allows you to use the duvet tie strings so the insert and the cover stay together better. I have also seen some large pin/buttons that are sold to keep them together but I don't know how well they work. You can also make your own insert using blankets or another comforter (which was what I was planning to do). It may not be the best setup but at least you can see if you like the concept of a duvet. I think I read somewhere the you can use large safety pins to keep it together as well (another trick I was planning on using) Just be careful of the ones you pick if you choose to do this. A duvet cover, to my understanding, is common in Europe. It combines the top sheet and the blanket/comforter. When you decide to omit the top sheet and just use the duvet you need to wash the cover weekly just like you would your sheets. It take longer to make the bed after you clean your sheets, but it can also make it faster daily for those who don't use the top sheet. Comforter is the all-in-one, it has the cover/design and insert sewn together . This is better for people who don't want to mess with putting the cover on and off the wash, which can be tricky. The comforter is also good if you like having a top sheet and your temperature fluctuate during the night switching from back and forth from just a sheet to sheet and a blanket. While is not a complete detail all about a Duvet (and covers) and Comforter, I hope this help. I am not an expert and encourage you to learn more on your own to find what ever bedding system works for you. You may want to watch tricks on how to put the cover on and of to see if that is something that will work for you. Good Luck in creating your bedroom!

Only negative is pillow shams are smaller than the old ones. Makes putting in pillows difficult. The colors are much more pronounced than pictures indicated but, I really like this vibrant colors.
