I bought this to replace a traditional wire shelf set up in my closet after it fell off the wall 3 times due to the weight, dumping everything in a heap on the floor. After that third time I finally decided to try something different and this has been exactly what I needed. Plenty of room to hang a lot of clothing. I also have totes up on the top of it and a shoe rack in the bottom. It is very sturdy and holds everything without it being overloaded at all. When shopping for closet shelving with built-in hanging rods, I noticed a lot of reviews of other products stating that the hanging area was too short for most men's clothing. When I found this option at seven feet tall, it looked like the height would be enough to help avoid that problem. I was a little uncertain about the shelves when I opened the box -- the black finish had a few scuffs and chips showing the silver metal underneath, and the plastic pieces to hold the shelves in place did not look sturdy. Overall I would say that this is all pretty typical metal shelving and not more thick or heavy duty than other brands. I'm happy with the product overall, with the height being enough to have two tiers of men's shirts hanging without hanging on the shelf below. I wouldn't say it's portable since I have it in inside a walk-in closet and it's taller than the door frame, but if it was free standing in a room you would be able to move it around easily. If you don't want it to roll, it also includes height-adjustable legs in addition to the wheels. A basic anti-tip kit is included but so far it feels very stable so I don't think I'll need to use it. ... show more

I purchased the 3 Tier with 1 rod, 15.7"D x 29.5"W x 74.5"H. It fit perfectly in our small hallway closet. We wanted a storage rack that would help us avoid drilling into the wall. It was easy to build and it's very sturdy. The price was good and overall looks great in the space.
