These Staples are the best way to hold smaller lengths of fencing to the ground. I use 6' wire fencing to protect my young trees from deer-who with a bite and a yank, or a rake with antlers-destroy young seedlings/saplings. I cut the fencing (I recommend bolt cutters as wire cutters are hard on hands) into 36" to 42" tubes that I wire together with nylon zip ties. I secure my cages to the ground with 4-6 of these lawn staples. These tubes will be on the trees until they outgrow them. These staples last for as long as you need them. They are a bit wobbly going in tough dirt but work well when it is softened. I got this because my dog was slipping under the chain link and she was able to push up the 6" stakes. She can't move these.

These galvanized staples are working well. I've discovered with some other galvanized staples that I've used in the pass, that the galvanization can come off due to inserting them into soil. Thus, in previously owned staples there has been surface rust. I'm not sure if that will be the case with these. ... show more
