I tried some six inch stakes and they just didn’t do much. I have some small artificial shrubs that I use in an area where nothing will grow. I needed something to hold them in the ground and these are perfect. They are very strong and you can push down on them with a lot of force and the will not bend. They go far enough into the ground that there is no chance of the shrubs blowing away. To top it off, my ground is really hard clay and the stakes went into the ground fairly easily. When i first saw the box they were in I thought I might have to return them. Opened and happy to see rounded top more suited to what I need them for. They are about 1 5/8 wide and 12 inches long. Sturdy but bendable. I might snip one side down to 4 inches or so too make them easier to push into somewhat rocky soil. Thee advertise as appropriate for 1/2" to 5/8" lines yet they are 1.5" wide. They are sturdy so if you like a sloppy fit you're in business. This width shows in an alternate pic but who clicks on those for something this simple.
