I should have listened…this hoist comes with 30 meters of wire all neatly wrapped up. The minute you let out some (I let out 50 feet) and then wind it back up, it gets stuck. The reel isn’t big enough to hold all the wire unless it’s spooled perfectly, which, when you’re lifting a load is impossible. So I only needed about 50’ so I cut off HALF of the wire. Then it did go up and down the 50’. After three hoists of 50’ the wire somehow wrapped itself around the spool in a way that will not come undone no matter what I do, I’ll add a picture below. This hoist was to save me time running up and down the stairs 5 stories, it has COST me so much time it’s ridiculous. Do not buy. Believe the bad reviews, this thing is very poorly designed.

I’m not sure why, the other reviewers have had trouble. I’m an electrician by former trade, but have owned my own bell company for 2 decades now. My technicians, and I have used this extensively for years now. The safety switch, did need replaced one time, but other than that, it has made us 40 times, what we paid for the unit. Do yourself a favor, read the manual, don’t be afraid of maintenance, and tear the thing apart and figure it out. Enjoy. Hard to find 110v hoist (electric w/ remote) with this much fall, and a semi lighter package. Buy with confidence.
