The templates are intentionally big to accommodate finish thickness but they’re a little too big. You have to use a lot of tape to slim down the pocket area where you’re going to route out material. If you don’t take the time to tape it off right you can end up with bad results which defeats the whole purpose of a template.

The neck pocket template is 1mm too wide on each side, and the bottom heel curve and rounded radius corners does not match up to Fender Strat neck pocket specs. If you use this template then try to attach a Fender license neck, there will be a 1.5-2mm gap along the heel curve. Even with 2 layers of tape to reduce the gap, it would still be a loose fitting neck pocket. (See photos)

Needed to rout a neck pocket on a body I acquired and after I was done the neck heel could not fit more perfectly.

I used this item to deepen a neck pocket on a partscaster of mine. Item looks solid, measures even and straight. I basically only used this item as a support for my dremel / router as I worked within what was already there. A lot of measuring, checking level, some tape, some glue and I routed out another 1.1mm in just a few minutes that is perfectly level and clean. This thing saved me hours of hand sanding, Especially getting through all the paint and whatnot all over the neck pocket from the factory. This guitar plays perfectly now as the neck fits snug and at the proper level. Great product!!
