This item worked. It's scary spending so much money on something with practically no reviews anywhere. Idk what others are buying to from where but I couldn't find any with many reviews. This Doppler came with the correct sent free lube too. Batteries were required. Instructions are useless as you turn it on and that's about it. Yes as some have said, the air and bed has a heart beat. That's because any movement on the Doppler wand causes sound. The same as a stethoscope. If you place any device like this on a pillow you will get a hear rate for 2 seconds till the sound stops. Shocking I know. But on the belly with the small amount of lube used as per dr's recommendation it was easy to find the 3 different heart rates. Mother's, fetuses, and placenta, and some occasional digestive sounds. Tested this on all the adults hearts on their chest and it was extraordinarily clear. Not sure if the heart rate on the screen is accurate but the sounds are pure and unaltered, could count them if you want but I got this to verify the baby is still alive. I'm glad this product worked, yes the device seems cheap but it works. No one complains about how cheap instant noodles are, yet they are fulfilling. ... show more

I bought this to help put my pregnant daughters’ mind at ease as she had been spotting for over a month. It worked perfectly! I found a strong heartbeat at only 13 weeks gestation. I was a maternal and infant nurse for several years and used a Doppler every day. Most people who have left poor reviews aren’t using it correctly. One particular video review I watched showed an individual placing the wand directly onto a hard surface and showed the Doppler reading various “heartbeats “. They concluded that it didn’t work correctly. They don’t understand how a Doppler picks up the sounds. There’s a reason you have to use gel as a conductor. My daughter is having her first kid and she wanted the ability to hear the heart beat when she wanted instead of waiting till her appointment. She has loved how simple and easy to use it.
