  • Great scope for the money
Style: 4.5-14x40, Black
I am using this for squirrel hunting… for the money you can’t beat it and the adjustable objective make it great for focusing on close targets!!

  • It is a lot of scope for the price.
Style: 4.5-14x40, Silver
The silver Anodized finish on the scope is not perfect and it should be. I own Simmons silver Scopes that cost more than a 100.00 less than this one and they are perfect. This scope is very clear and all of the adjustments are very smooth and it holds zero very well. If the silver finish would have been Flawless this would be a lot of scope for thfinde money. I am going to keep this one because it is nearly Imposible to find a high power scope like this in silver to match a stainless and synthetic rifle. They need more Quality control and less flash on the outside. ... show more

  • First impressions were good.....
Style: 4.5-14x40, Silver
Upon arrival of this optic, first impressions looked positive. Clarity was impressive for the price, nice audible clicks for the adjustments, finish is very nice and parallax was not a problem. I mounted and shot exactly 20 rounds. 1 box of .308. It was dead on and sighted in in less than 20. ( The rest was just for plinking ). I placed it in the gun safe and haven't taken it out since the last week. Once I brought it out to shoot again, I heard a rattling in my rifle, before I ever shot it. Further inspection showed it was the optic itself. The forward lens of the optic, inside the bell, was rattling. The lens itself is not seated at all and is loose, wiggling around inside. No way I can take this rifle hunting or use this optic in good conscience, with this knowledge knowing it would be completely inaccurate. I am attempting to contact Mueller's customer service, which is no easy task in itself. Upon contact I will update the review in regards to the customer service experience. *******UPDATE****** 5 stars for Amazon 1 star for Mueller Mueller customer service was FAR less impressive than I expected. I eventually had to contact Amazon to ask if they would be able to provide contact information for Mueller. I finally contacted Mueller and advised them of the issue I was having. When they picked up the phone, it sounded like a secretary. I asked for customer service. She said" well I do that sometimes, what do you need". I told her the issue. I was told to send it back at the cost of $12.50 and include another $12.50 to send it back to me. I was then told to look the scope over very well before shipping it back, due to the fact she didn't want me to waste my money. I asked her what she meant. I was told if there were any external marks on the scope, even from mounting, the warrant would be voided, I would get the defective scope sent back to me with no replacement or refund. Its easy to offer a lifetime warranty, when there are such conditions attached. Thankfully, Amazon comes through again. I notified them of the outcome from the contact with Mueller, at Amazons request. When I emailed Amazon and asked for the Muellers contact information initially, they told me to keep them updated on how Mueller handled this transaction. Amazon offered a replacement or refund on their behalf. Amazon customer service is top notch and cannot be beat. Mueller on the other hand, customer service is terrible, they are based in the United States yes, but the scope itself even states "Made in China". Poor service and Poor product! Thanks again Amazon! ... show more

  • Marlin XT-22
Style: 4.5-14x40, Black
I mounted this on my Marlin XT-22 bolt action rifle. I thought I'd write this review since I can find almost no information regarding scopes and mounts for this rifle. Unlike semi-automatic rifles, bolt clearance becomes an issue when mounting optics on a bolt action rifle. I bought a set of Weaver #12 scope mount bases and weaver quad lock 1" scope rings. I bought a set of high and extra high scope rings because I wanted to make sure the bolt clears the rear lens while cycling AND removing the bolt for cleaning. In one review on youtube someone mounted a Nikon Prostaff on the XT-22 with medium height rings and the bolt was clear for cycling the action but didn't have enough room to remove the bolt so he had to take a dremel to his bolt and grind it down. With the high height scope rings the Mueller APV 4.5-14x40 fits perfectly on the XT-22. There's about a 2mm gap between the front objective lens and the top of the barrel, just enough space for the front lens cover. The bolt also clears the rear lens by just about 1mm. Honestly it's scope was made for this rifle. The scope also clears the rear iron sights so you don't have to remove them. The AO was one of the big requirements for me. I haven't checked the markings to see if they match the distances exactly but from what I've seen they seem about right. Some people have reported the distances being completely off, I'm guessing they just got a bad copy. So far mine seems to be spot on. Optics are crystal clear up to about 9x magnification and still very good up to 14x. One potential downside I suppose is that the scope is rather heavy. If you're taking this backpacking you could probably save 5 or 6 ounces going with a 3-9x40, however for my purposes this isn't an issue. ... show more

  • Works well for me!!!!
Style: 4.5-14x40, Silver
First off, this was my first scope and other then what I've read about them, I had little idea what to expect or what makes one better then another. All I wanted was a scope that I could see .22 hits at 100 yards. That said, I purchased the Mueller based the specs and reviews I'd found on the net and pretty darn happy I did. I put it on my SS 10/22 carbine along with the recommended rings from the Mueller sight. Installation was a breeze and found initial zero'ing in at 50yrds pretty simple once found where the first shots where hitting. In no time, I was getting groups of 1-1.5" with ease, even with the trashy bulk ammo. When I moved out to 100 yrd I was able to see the hits very well, but that was on the black dirty bird splatter targets. I have not tried standard paper targets. Again zero'ing to 100 was super easy and once that was done both myself and the wife were having a blast plinking 5" clays off the berm at 110 yrds. One shot, one clay, time after time. It was pretty cool and wife thought she was Annie Oakley. My only complaint is that I wish it had some MOA dots or notches below the cross-hairs for bullet drop @ 100+, as I noticed a quite a bit of difference from on brand of ammo to another, but just dialing the Objective Bell out a few extra yards put the cross hair right on. Over all, very happy and give it 2 thumbs up for both from and function. I didn't get the sunshade, as my range is covered. ... show more
