As other buyers stated the box did sustain some damage, but everything was there. A few sections got a little bent out of square where they attach together but were easy enough to straighten out with some pliers. I also needed to drill a different hole in the seat tensioning bar which was no big deal. The instructions were clear enough but the diagrams could have been a little bigger. It took a couple hours to preassemble into 2 sections to carry in to be set up. I pounded a couple of 18" rebar stakes in the ground to brace the bottom rung so it wouldn't kick out when raising it up. I also bought the Muddy universal treestand blind which fit nicely. The season doesn't start for a few weeks yet so I only sat in it for a few minutes and the seat seems super comfy. It flips up too and the platform is a decent size so you can stand to watch behind. ... show more

Product arrived ahead of schedule in good condition with all parts intact. Some steps of the assembly process were difficult especially the installation of the seat back brace. The instructions weren't great but good enough to help me put the stand together by myself. I would not recommend field assembly. ... show more

Overall now that I have the stand together it is sturdy, quiet, and comfortable. The stand came with everything but the instructions are poor. To start, the pictures and qty of each of the hardeare pieces are incorrect so you need to use your best judgement of what size hardware is used at each step. Once together I am happy with my purchase. Also I reccomend having a second person to help stand it up on the tree. I was able to put it up solo but I probably wouldnt do it by myself again. ... show more

Great stand, easy to assemble and well built. Just make sure to use the right bolts. Also note that if you disassemble it, that it will be extremely difficult to reassemble.

    • Dissappointed with Muddy Tree Stand Purchase
This is the fourth Muddy product I've purchased and the second tree stand I own from Muddy. The first one I purchased directly from a local Bass Pro Shops seven years ago and I decided to buy a second one for a new property I'm hunting. I could have chosen any other tree stand that was comparably priced but I stuck with Muddy because I've liked their products in the past. I'm not sure I will do that in the future: 1. In the Hardware list, the Hex Bolts depicted in the instructions (1/4" x 1 1/2" and 1/4" x 1 3/4") wasn't what was included. There were also (4) 1/4" x 1 1/2" bolts missing and two incorrectly sized nylon nuts included with the package. (I needed to purchase four additional Hex Bolts and two nylon nuts to complete the assembly. All parts were counted prior to assembly). 2. From the instruction manual: FIG 8. Step 8: The seat bar was incorrectly drilled and no matter how much you tried to "stretch" the seat, the bolt hole wouldn't align. (The seat tension bolt was completely seated and not expanded at that time). A new hole needed to be drilled to fit the seat rest and for the tensioner to work properly. (This added a significant amount of time to the assembly process to figure out and complete). 3. From the instruction manual: In FIG 9. Step 9: You can't attach the seat assembly to the backrest support with the rear arm supports fully bolted and secured. The rear arm supports need to be disassembled in order to get the long Seat Assembly bolt through the two holes. (This added a significant amount of time to the assembly process to figure out and complete). 4. FIG 13. Step 15. The shooting rail foam is so thin that it doesn't allow for the Velcro covers to be successfully secured. With that, both the arm rest and shooting rail (with the covers on) literally "spin." Upon entrance and departure from the tree stand or when standing the most logical places to grab are the "hand rails" and possibly the shooting rail. If someone were to stumble and grabl onto them..... they actually will spin and perhaps making a fall more likely. (I will be replacing the "thin" rail foam with a pipe insulator that has more depth and firmness). Although a long-time fan of Muddy and GSM Outdoors products, this purchase has significantly changed my mind. (P.S. - an email to Muddy's Customer Service has gone unanswered) ... show more
