  • Fantastic gaming monitor
What I love about this monitor is the wide color gamut. I play games on the PC, and with the wide color gamut the colors look fantastic, it has made my gaming experience so much more immersive compared to my old monitor which had a much narrower color gamut. Also moving from 1080p to 1440p was a much bigger difference than what I was expecting, which is good. The huge increase in image details is what I am noticing as I am playing, which again makes for a much more immersive experience. The adaptive sync with Geforce Gsync works flawlessly, so I am not seeing any screen tearing at all. When the monitor is connected to your PC with a USB cable, you can control all the settings of your monitor with Windows desktop app "Gaming OSD", which I love to use, much easier and more convenient to make changes to the settings to fit my needs. They also have an android app that links to the Gaming OSD which makes it even more convenient to make changes while I am playing a game, I use this often when I want to use the Night vision function of the monitor when I am playing a game. Night Vision brightens up dark portions of a game, which is a very helpful feature to have for those times when I feel a game developer made an area too dark. I did a lot of research in finding the monitor that fit the wants I have, which were: wide color gamut, 27inch, 1440p, over all image quality. I found a youtuber that did an excellent review of the monitor and he compared it to other monitors, I found other reviewers for the monitor as well, and they all recommended his monitor due to it's high end features and fantastic image quality at a very affordable price point. Honestly, you should see your monitor as an investment into your gaming since a monitor will last far longer then your computer will before you get an upgrade to your computer, so get the best you can afford, and I feel this monitor is well worth the money given it's affordable price point and it's high end features. The monitor fulfills all my needs and wants for my gaming. I was looking for something to help feel more immersive into my gaming, and this monitor does that due to it's Wide color gamut and features like Adaptive Sync and the refresh rate. It delivered all of this beyond what I was expecting. Couple of weaknesses of the monitor I have found is: Contrast Ratio, I wish it could be higher, it's at 1000:1, which is not terrible at all, but would like the blacks to be deeper. Thankfully it hasn't detracted from the immersive experience. The other weakness is it's HDR400. Honestly, using HDR didn't add anything to the game, didn't distract from it either. It's something you can leave off and you wouldn't be missing anything worthwhile. But I will be honest, the HDR feature wasn't a selling point for me at all. Over all, this is a fantastic gaming monitor for it's price. You'll get high end features that you normally only see on much more expensive monitors. The image quality, colors, and various other features all add to the immersive experience in gaming. Their software for the desktop and for the android phone are great to use for ease of use and convenience. ... show more

  • Amazing Picture, Fast & Responsive
This is a gorgeous looking screen. I needed a flat screen, and from using Samsung Quantum Dot monitors I figured I would give it a shot. Hardware Unboxed gave it a great review.. I was using the more expensive MSI MPG341CQR, but the curved 34 inch screen would stretch the images/docs towards the edge of the screen. It is an excellent gaming monitor, but not for work. For this reason I needed a very good flat screen for work and play. Pros: very vibrant The screen looks and and is reactive like a premium monitor. Very low latency 165 Hz Flat Almost no IPS glow No dead pixels Excellent color reduction after calibration. Amazing for gaming. I prefer the more square shape, compared to the elongated 27" monitors Vesa mount compatible PS5 compatible for down scaling 4K. MSi has done a fantastic job with this. Viewing angles Cons: Plain looking box. I'm used to nicer packaging. Bland, but practical stand. Lighting on the back of the monitor is pretty lack luster. Plastic casing is ok Needs some calibration to make it look better out of the box. It's overly vibrant, but easily adjusted from the OSD to make it look great for gaming and daily use. I would recommend a tool if using it for photo work. The MSI Gaming OSD software had to be uninstalled from the pc as it did not recognize going from 1 MSI monitor to this. I am very impressed with this monitor. The screen looks great, and is fast and responsive. My gripes are very minor, as the frame and boxing materials are very bland. I was hesitant after reading the reviews about dead pixels, but experienced none. IPS glow is practically non existent I would definitely recommend this for gaming, productivity, and photo/video work. I was deciding between this, LG IPS monitors, Dell/Alienware, and the Samsung G7. It does take a powerful GPU to hit 165Hz. ... show more
