  • Fantastic gaming monitor
What I love about this monitor is the wide color gamut. I play games on the PC, and with the wide color gamut the colors look fantastic, it has made my gaming experience so much more immersive compared to my old monitor which had a much narrower color gamut. Also moving from 1080p to 1440p was a much bigger difference than what I was expecting, which is good. The huge increase in image details is what I am noticing as I am playing, which again makes for a much more immersive experience. The adaptive sync with Geforce Gsync works flawlessly, so I am not seeing any screen tearing at all. When the monitor is connected to your PC with a USB cable, you can control all the settings of your monitor with Windows desktop app "Gaming OSD", which I love to use, much easier and more convenient to make changes to the settings to fit my needs. They also have an android app that links to the Gaming OSD which makes it even more convenient to make changes while I am playing a game, I use this often when I want to use the Night vision function of the monitor when I am playing a game. Night Vision brightens up dark portions of a game, which is a very helpful feature to have for those times when I feel a game developer made an area too dark. I did a lot of research in finding the monitor that fit the wants I have, which were: wide color gamut, 27inch, 1440p, over all image quality. I found a youtuber that did an excellent review of the monitor and he compared it to other monitors, I found other reviewers for the monitor as well, and they all recommended his monitor due to it's high end features and fantastic image quality at a very affordable price point. Honestly, you should see your monitor as an investment into your gaming since a monitor will last far longer then your computer will before you get an upgrade to your computer, so get the best you can afford, and I feel this monitor is well worth the money given it's affordable price point and it's high end features. The monitor fulfills all my needs and wants for my gaming. I was looking for something to help feel more immersive into my gaming, and this monitor does that due to it's Wide color gamut and features like Adaptive Sync and the refresh rate. It delivered all of this beyond what I was expecting. Couple of weaknesses of the monitor I have found is: Contrast Ratio, I wish it could be higher, it's at 1000:1, which is not terrible at all, but would like the blacks to be deeper. Thankfully it hasn't detracted from the immersive experience. The other weakness is it's HDR400. Honestly, using HDR didn't add anything to the game, didn't distract from it either. It's something you can leave off and you wouldn't be missing anything worthwhile. But I will be honest, the HDR feature wasn't a selling point for me at all. Over all, this is a fantastic gaming monitor for it's price. You'll get high end features that you normally only see on much more expensive monitors. The image quality, colors, and various other features all add to the immersive experience in gaming. Their software for the desktop and for the android phone are great to use for ease of use and convenience. ... show more

  • Great monitor, nice colors, no dead pixels, some backlight bleed but not too bad, but too expensive!
Had the monitor for about 2.5 months now and very happy with it. Got this monitor because of the high praise from Hardware Unboxed and RTINGS independent reviewer outlets. Reddit comments about bad MSI QA and negative reviews on Amazon had me scared, but since Amazon allows for easy free returns, I thought I would give it a try or two. Not sure if I got lucky or the negative reviews are just a disproportionate vocal majority, but I was happy with the monitor I received and kept it. It has no dead pixels, and while it has some back-light bleed in one of the corners, it's noticeable only if it displays a purely black image, it's not noticeable if the monitor displays anything else, so it's not really an issue and I decided against re-rolling the dice of returning the monitor and ending up with a worse one. The colors look very good. I have followed RTINGS suggestion and set it to User profile (Gaming -> Gaming Mode -> User), and set 11 brightness, 70 contrast, 0 sharpness and custom color temperature of R: 100, G:90, B:92. As 11 is a very low brightness, suitable only for evening/night (high dilated pupils), if it's too bright in the room and the display looks too dim, I up the brightness. Out of the box, the monitor comes with eye-searing brightness of 70, which might not look too bright to you at first, but it blinds you when you open anything white, like a web page, after looking at a non-white screen for a while. I typically have brightness set to below 70, around 12 in evening/night, and around 32 or 42 during the day. When playing a game, depending on a game, I might switch the color profile away from User to Premium Color (you can quick-select it if you just move the joystick up) for more eye-popping colors, switching it back to User when exiting the game. It depends on a game though, as some don't look as good, i.e. Team Fortress 2 looks good with Premium Color, while Vampire Survivor doesn't, so I keep it at User profile. My only gripe with the monitor is that it's $420 as of today (Oct 11, 2022) and was when I purchased it in July -- that's way too expensive. There are many other good 1440p 144hz+ monitors out there, some as low as $250. This monitor should be at most $350, preferably even lower. The monitor appeared on Amazon around December 2020 for $450, according to CamelCamelCamel -- a $30 reduction in what is soon to be 2 years since the initial listing is way too small. ... show more

  • Great monitor! Bright fast big and good looking.
It's a great monitor! Ive had it for around a year I use it primarily for gaming and content consumption (youtube, movies, etc.). I replaced my old sceptre monitor which is now my second monitor making this msi my primary. Its very bright compared to a budget (~$160) monitor that along with the color and size make it a large step up from a very budget lcd monitor. I have the colors pumped which isnt best for accuracy i know but is good for my use case. There is a dead pixel or two but it really hasnt bothered me too much and hasnt affected my enjoyment of the content i consume. Although it is "HDR" compatable while it is bright compared to most displays i wouldnt say the contrast is truly HDR as it is only HDR10 so if thats why your buying the monitor look elswhere. The stand is very nice and overall the monitor has a premium feeling I appreciate the navigation nipple and it makes the OSD easy to use and again makes it feel premium. The adjustments with the stand are very useful and has a wide variety for different setups. I do think the RGB on the back is cool although my monitor is facing a wall whenever i go back there to plug something into my pc i apprecitate how good the back of the screen looks. The monitor space is very competitive and monitors become cheaper faster bigger and brighter every year. so if your looking to buy this now make sure to compare it to others which may either have just come out and be better or may have come down in price. But its a great monitor! ... show more
