It is very warm and slightly over sized a bit so he can wear it over a t-shirt or other long sleeve shirts and comfortable. He would rather wear this than a bulky coat even if it is very cold outside! It is very well made and durable. Have already washed it a lot. It became an instant favorite for me. It's warm, very comfortable, handsome and versatile with the buttoned-down, roll-up collar. I'll definitely be buying more. You *will* need a fabric shaver though, as the material does pill. The pilling comes off super fast and easy with a cheap shaver like the one pictured.
