The price was the best I could find for a full synthetic ester based oil in the weight I needed. 5W40 for an R1200GSW. What surprised me was that it was red in color…..Never saw that before. It met the MA2 and API spec., which was something like SL OR SM, maybe even SN. Anyways, it met the spec, and it wasn’t too pricey. There is a lack of good quality motorcycle oil in the industry, right now. However, Motul was easy to get through Amazon and it is a good quality product that doesn't breakdown without some intense use. This is not the oil I usually run in my Goldwing but it is definitely a top shelf product which creates smooth shifting and longevity between oil changes. ... show more

This and 300v on the track days are the only oils I will run in my bike, July 21 will be 2 years and I have 39,980 miles on her, got her with 1 mile on the clock from the showroom floor. She runs like a dream even after all the ecu work and mods, this oil is hands down the best daily riding oil available for a superbike and so I'm sure for any other high performance motorcycle out there. It arrived in a plastic container. It appears to be oil. It is the oil recommended by the manufacturer of the motorcycle I put it in . I am not scientifically qualified to judge it's performance . The 5 star rating is for delivery and price only.

I've owned a number of different scooters over the years and I've always used some kind of Motul. Just changed the oil today in a Piaggio with this 7100, 5w-40, and it's running great. Motul lasts a long time between oil changes.
