  • Nice walkie-talkie..
I bought this for my kids to play with, they kept ask for a walkie-talkie, so I went to local store to check out walkie-talkie toy, the price for toy walkie-talkie was very similar or more, compair to an actual functional walkie-talkie this is worth it. They are very small in size, It uses 3 AAA batteries on each unit, very easy to use, i like the lock function, it lock out many settings leaving key functions accessible such as speaker volume, call/page, on/off, and of course talk, The voice on speaker is clear, I have not test the maximum distance range, they were within playground area without issue. Kids loved to play with it, I am happy they liked it, therefore its a good purchase. ... show more

  • Stay Connected Outdoors
The Motorola T107 Talkabout Radio, 2 Pack is a great option for staying connected with friends and family, especially during outdoor activities. The radios are lightweight and compact, making them easy to carry with you wherever you go. They have a range of up to 16 miles and the battery life is quite good. The sound quality is clear and the volume is loud enough to be heard in most environments. The radios also come with a variety of features such as NOAA weather alerts, which is great for keeping track of the weather during outdoor activities. The radios are also very easy to use, with simple controls that allow you to easily change channels and adjust the volume. The package comes with two radios, which is great for groups that want to stay in touch while on the go. I have used these radios while camping, hiking, and at the beach and they work great. Overall, I highly recommend the Motorola T107 Talkabout Radio, 2 Pack for anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use communication solution for outdoor activities. ... show more

  • Useful little radios - but shorter range.
These are great for kids, or for camping/hiking. But are suitable only for short range communications. The advertized range is for super optimal conditions - in reality only looking at a range of a couple of hundred yards, and less than that in a built up suburban area. As someone with a bit of a background in communications tech, I have to say the Motorola T107 Talkabout Radios impressed me more than I expected for their price range. These little FRS units aren’t going to blow anyone away in terms of range or power output, but for what they are—simple, license-free handhelds—they perform reliably. The audio quality is surprisingly clean with minimal hiss, and the VOX function actually works decently well in quiet environments. The build feels lightweight but not flimsy, and Motorola nailed the ergonomics—it’s intuitive even for non-tech folks. Sure, you won’t get fancy features like privacy codes or rechargeable battery packs, but for basic short-range comms—say, coordinating at events, hiking, or just keeping in touch on a work site—they’re solid. Think of them as “plug-and-play” radios for people who appreciate good RF design without overcomplicating things ... show more

  • East Bound and Down, Loaded Up and Truckin'
These are fantastic little radios. My spouse and I used them to communicate between vehicles on a cross-state move, and they worked great. Easily worked across at least 50 car lengths on an interstate. The clip worked beautifully to attach mine to my seatbelt, right at my sternum. Kept it very easy to access. Super easy to use, and seem reasonably durable. I was getting low-battery chirps after only a few hours of use, though. Each takes 3 AAA batteries, so stock up on cheap Amazon batteries for best results. ... show more

  • Used these driving from CT to FLA in separate cars
These radios were a lifesaver and really acted as the glue that held our road trip together. Instead of being distracted by all the buttons you have to touch/press on cellphones, it was much more easier to just press&hold the ONE button down on the walkie talkie while speaking, and simply letting it go while listening for a reply. We just moved from CT to central FLA, my husband drove the moving van and I drove the family car. Instead of taking I-95 all the way down and dealing with high traffic areas and expensive tolls, we chose an alternate route that could be a little confusing at times when having to switch junctions etc. The radios were great to use to communicate when we were about to approach an exit we needed to take or to warn each other about an upcoming merger onto another route or to alert each other when we wanted to stop for a rest and a stretch, or to fuel up, or to take a bathroom break or to stop for the night at a hotel. We even used them just to simply keep each other awake by chatting back and forth. I bought generic store brand batteries to put in them and only had to change them once in the course of 3 days on the road, and each day they were on for 8-10 hours at a time. These radios really made the road trip go smoothly for us. Never had a problem with clarity of sound or static or being unable to get reception. Very easy to use. Definitely recommend. ... show more

  • Crystal Clear Sound Quality
I’ve bought a couple sets of cheap kids Walkie talkies, trying to avoid spending a lot of money, but they were all useless. I’m so glad I finally decided to spend little bit more on this ‘toy’! There is not even the slightest bit of static until you get really far apart. My daughter and I tested them, she got on her bicycle and I could hear her close to half a mile away, despite the trees and houses separating us. It got staticky when she was a ways away, but for use around the house and yard these are crystal clear. They’re very easy to use, small, so even my 3 year old (who’s little compared to her peers) can easily use them with no trouble. They have a removable belt clip, which is neat. The only slightly negative thing I could say is that pinching the belt clip on and off is a little awkward, it’s a tight clip, which I suppose is good. Make sure you take the belt clip off before changing the batteries! I scared myself once trying to force the battery compartment open when the belt clip was on. Oh, and that’s another plus! Products marketed for kids typically require a screw driver to open the battery compartment (I guess so the kids don’t eat the batteries???), but since these aren’t marketed to kids, the compartment is not screwed on. So if your kid is into eating batteries maybe this isn’t the product for you. 😂 Battery life is better than I expected. If you turn them off after using them, the batteries will last longer. Sometimes we don’t turn them off, and it’s a good 4 or 5 days before the batteries die. What more can one expect from something that takes AAA batteries? To compare, I can’t leave my iPhone on and idle for 4 days without it dying, and it’s battery costs considerably more than a few AAAs. I can’t attest to how these perform for serious outdoor use, hiking, kayaking, etc. But, if you’re looking for a fun toy for your kids, these are great! Don’t make the same mistake I did and buy cheap sets marketed towards kids that are all static. I wish I had bought these a long time ago. ... show more

  • Its a great toy. But still a toy. Recommended for kids. Adults could use something better.
Bought 4 for a girls scout camping trip. The range is more like a block, perhaps two not "a few miles". Never trust the distance claims in these types of radios, Anything like the max distance is probably possible only between two dune tops in a desert with light of sight and perfect conditions. Otherwise.. divide the distance over 15 to get a better idea. On the plus side my daughters and their friends love them, they are pink, small for their smaller hands, light, and I won't feel bad if they get broken or die. They are inexpensive enough and have already gotten, in just two outings, my money's worth. ... show more

  • These work great
These do exactly what I wanted them to do. I wanted a fun toy my kids could play with that wasn't a complete piece of junk. These work well for around the house and in the neighborhood. They do NOT have a multi mile range in real world conditions. You need to have a clear line of sight with oriented antennas to have extended range. I find these are perfect for the house and neighborhood. There are some other kids who have radios 2 streets away from me who we can talk to perfectly if we are on the same channel. (These are kids we know well who go to school with mine. We're not meeting strangers on the radio or anything weird) The radios are physically well made. They are solidly constructed. The buttons don't feel cheap like they are going to break soon. I have an older pair of similar Motorola radios that I've had for about 10 years. They don't feel as well made as these, and the old ones are still holding up and working fine. So I feel good about these. Battery life is pretty good. I got them as a Christmas gift for my kids and they've been using them every day since. The batteries are still going strong. That's a week now. I put rechargeables in, assuming they would drain quickly and need to be replaced a lot. I still think that's a good idea but I haven't had to recharge them yet. And rechargables typically don't last as long between charges as normal batteries. All in all these are everything I've wanted them to be and I'm happy with them. ... show more
