These are great little walkie-talkies! I organize events and got like 15 of these in the past few months for my production team. They work within 4-6 mile range outside perfectly, and work even better in the large convention centers. Battery lives for 1,5 day of active use. Super easy to setup channels. I used these radios during a camping trip and they came in really useful. Their long range allowed me to share the radios with friends traveling in separate vehicles. Making callouts and requesting pit stops using radios was way more fun and probably safer than texting. I also tried out these radios during ground to lift communications on a construction site in a densely populated city. The radios cane in handy and allowed us to communicate clearly, but the density of the city meant other people were using similar radios on the same channels we were. I work 2.5 miles from my house and my office is a number of stories up, so other than some trees it's basically a straight shot from here to my house. Doesn't work at all at this distance. I should have read the other 1 star reviews first.

Really great radio for the money. I have a Christmas Tree farm and I bought these for my employees and I to be able to coordinate parking and sales. They were always in range inside or out. Great calling features and security code blocks. The battery life is REALLY good. I used them without charging for 3 eight hour days and one was even left on over night. No problem. Very clear transmissions. I worked in law enforcement for 20 years and carried a portable daily. These had equally clear speakers. The instructions state they should be stored with the batteries discharged. I have closed for the season and after just charging all of the radios I had to leave them on to discharge before packing them up for the year. They have been sitting and turned on for 3 days and they still have battery life. Great deal for the money! ... show more

As mentioned - 25 miles may works in clear point to point conditions. As for my tests these provided plenty interference based on position and didn't range more than a mile in hilly areas. As well the buttons are black which makes for diffucult operation in dark conditions or for seniors. Going to swap out for motos that only require 3-5 miles. ... show more
