  • e and Perfect for Staying Connected with My Daughter
Style: T114
These 2-way radios have been a game changer for giving my daughter a bit of independence while keeping us safely connected. She loves playing outside, and with these radios, she can explore the neighborhood while still being just a call away. The range is impressive—they work clearly throughout our entire neighborhood with no static or dropouts. We’ve tested them from several blocks away and had no issues at all. The sound is clear and the controls are simple enough for a child to use without frustration. I feel much more at ease knowing we can reach each other instantly if needed. These radios have brought both freedom and peace of mind, and I couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommend for any parents looking for a reliable way to stay in touch with their kids outdoors! ... show more

  • Easy, delivers on promise, highly recommend.

These were great for me and my two kids on our latest camping trip with several other families. My 5th graders could bike and explore with friends separately from me and we were able to communicate clearly and easily up to about 2 miles apart with no problems. we kept them on 18 hours a day for 3 days and they kept going. Worked out of the box no problem. Look forward to using them for our next trip and was nice to be able to not have digital devices and still keep in touch as needed. Highly recommend. Also small enough to fit in pocket easily, which is great. ... show more

  • Works great
Style: T110
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I bought this set to work with another set that I have. They work great and all of them are compatible with each other. They are easy to program. The kids love them. I wish they were rechargeable. That is the reason for a 4 star review.

  • Great product for our needs
Style: T114
Great set of walkie talkies for our grandparents. They needed something easy to use and the buttons are raised so my Grandpa can use it even with his poor eyesight. They use it so when one is outside they can reach the other inside. He finds this easier to use than a cell phone which he can’t see well enough to use. This was the solution they needed. I can’t speak to the range on them except they work around the back yard to the house. ... show more

  • Good for perfect weather and short range with children.
Style: T110TP
Sometimes it's difficult to know how to rate because your usage may not be the same as others. So I'm rating these based on my usage and I will explain my usage which might discourage others in in my situation or help people who will have a totally different use. Warning: this will be a very long review. I bought these as an addition to the hurricane preparedness box. When hurricane Helene turned unexpectedly closer toward us, we were all caught off guard, I only had minimal supplies. Growing up in Florida, I am used to hurricanes however not being caught off guard and I am rectifying that now that I am in Georgia and have a longer span for these storms change their course on us. Constantly climbing over debris and downed trees and poles just to get across the street to check on my mom, since we had no cell service, was a huge pain in my tushy. I had also thought about during the storm, it would be nice to have a second way of checking on her. Thirdly, after the storm my son and I would go out walking just to see the damage around us but also looked to find a path out of the neighborhood. We were often separated and I wanted a way to communicate with him to make sure he was okay but also so we could communicate if one of us found a path out. So my whole point buying these we're for storm usage before, during and after. I also wanted replaceable battery operated walkies because batteries are easy to put in a box or stick in a pocket and rechargeable battery packs are not useful when you have no power. These are not suitable for that use. I could get two blocks easy but any electrical interference from computers or even the car as I was down driving around the neighborhood to check signal strength, started increasing the static exponentially. While we were checking in-house usage to outside usage, my son had to go to a different room with no electronics going. I had to get out of the car and shut it off. Even then we got about two and a half blocks before there was just too much static and words started having to be inferred. When he was outside, we got about two and a half blocks without the static and three before it started again so not really much of a difference. I could easily call from inside my house to inside my mom's house but we literally bought houses across the street from each other. And please note this was all in perfect clear sunny weather. I tried again during a mild thunderstorm, and just across the street, the static increased dramatically. In the end, I decided to keep these only because after the hurricane, should we have another problem this year or down the road, they will be useful for checking on my mom after the storm. Since they are battery operated, I can just hand her a thing of batteries and we are all good. For during the storm communication with my mom and for afterwards communication with my son as we're roaming around, I ended up buying 2 gmrs radios and getting the license from the FCC. If that's what you need, look at some YouTube videos and you'll get all the information you need. I needed the power and so far those have proved far more useful because they're simply more powerful. And since then I have learned a whole lot more about radios and walkie talkies than I ever thought I would have a need to know. Now if you are buying these to keep in touch under normal conditions with your children or maybe your neighbor, I would highly recommend these. Stop looking for rechargeable ones to use for children. I've seen so many reviews of radios complaining about them not being rechargeable and they're using them to keep in touch with their children. And yes, I'm about to go on a little bit of a rant but only because it seems to be necessary. Rechargeable battery radios are not useful for keeping in touch with children when they're roaming the neighborhoods or at their friend's house a block away. The moment those radios die, they have to be recharged. You're not going to be getting a hold of your child, they probably won't even know their radio is dead. When they do know, they are not going to want to come home to recharge their radio. If they can recharge them at their friend's house, great but you're not going to be able to get in touch with them while they're recharging. Stick three AAA batteries in their pocket or their backpack and move on. You'll have a much easier time keeping in touch and AAA batteries are super cheap. Now I am done with the rant. These radios have a really nice feel to them, they fit very well in the hand and feels sturdy. I never put the clip on them so I can't say how well that works. We've still been in the testing stage with the gmrs so I haven't worried so much about these. When they do go in the hurricane box, for our use after the storm I will put the clips on them. However they are very easy to just stick into a pocket. They are nicely designed for use use in children's hands and yet they still work well for adults. On a beautiful day you will get about two blocks in a neighborhood but you might have to go outside to get it. If you or Mom and Dad and are standing at the kitchen sink washing dishes, open the window or have your child planned to go outside their friend's house or wherever they're playing. In summation, use these with children or with neighbors close by in good weather and with no electronics around depending on what range you want to get. These only have half a watt power and they are not meant for iffy weather nor are they meant for long range. ... show more
