These pants fit a bit big. I wear a size 32 in pants and got the "medium", and they fit a little baggier than I like, but one thing I like about the bagginess is that it conceals the knee pads well. The stock hip pads are just little pieces of foam. I got some D30 pads but they are too small for these pants and don't cover my hip bones unless I wear them with the waist high up. The stitching is too loud for my taste. It's not a good look. But one thing I really like is how easily you can pop out the knee pads. The pocket is easily accessible. So these pants quickly transform into regular pants by poppingniit the knee pads. The hip pads are not so easy to access. They don't look as good with thicker hip pads in but they would protect your hip bone if you fell on it. Btw the brand name of these pants is Komine. They are all over Chinese online shoppt sites. I think I have seen them as low as $15. But they are surprisingly nice and I rock them. ... show more

3 cycles in washing machine with either baking soda and vinegar did not help. Also soaked over night in heavy baking soda. Then hanging out side for 7 days and they still have a bad odor. Do not recommend for this reason only. 4 weeks later.....can't get rid of the smell

For starters, these pants didn't even come close to fitting. I usually wear pants around size 32/32. I ordered size 32L and there was more empty space in them than the abandoned cavern Joe Biden calls a head. I could wrap these bad boys around a Prius and still need a belt. Maybe if the good Lord had thought to endow me with an 18 inch penis I wouldnt feel so lonely in my own pants, but alas, my 3.5 inches and I are no match for these overpriced burlap sacks sewn together and marketed as "safety gear." Which brings me to my next point: I wouldnt feel safe falling into a foam pit with these on. Even if these pants offer a bit more protection than your average slacks, they're so baggy and cumbersome I'd probably incur more rider-error crashes than if I just sputtered around town in board shorts and flip flops. Not to mention the "hip pads" will do as much good as taping cardboard to the inside of your pants. The material for the hip guards is the same foam cut outs that you can get from any craft supply store for when you feel like spicing up a greeting card or are doing crafts with a group of kindergarteners. The knee pads didnt seem quite as awful, but with everything else I disliked about these pants i didnt bother taking them on a test ride. All in all you're probably best off spending more money up front to get quality gear. If you do buy these pants though I would size down. ... show more
