Supplied bolts for the crash bars aren’t the right size but your oem ones work great. Takes 5 minutes to install, only wish they were a little more flat in color since my paint is matte but still look great installed.

These look nicer on the bike than OEM highway bars, but the design is heavily flawed. If there’s any forward movement during a fall I’ve seen countless photos of this exact design bent completely where it mounts to the bike. After seeing those photos of terrible foot and leg amputation situations where it cause the bike to fall on the rider, I returned mine right away. Not to mention it gets in the way of boots if you ride with floor boards. You also can’t attach highway pegs to this with how thick the pipe portion is. The bars look great. They are heavy and thick. The slider portions also look very well made. The install is somewhat easy as it's just 2 bolts, but you do need to remove your foot controls on each side. Once installed they look great on the bike. My only concern is that they will not hold up in the case of a high speed slide. Each bar is held in by 2 bolts at the bottom, and nothing at the top. This is fine if the bike is dropped or even a low speed slide, but at high speed if hit the right way I can definitely see how the top of the bar could fold back. I'm not really worried about it as my Scout is mainly for show and local bar hopping, but something to keep in mind if you do a lot of highway riding. ... show more
