You get what you pay for- these are so soft they're going to be basically worthless in a crash, so calling them crash bars is kind of mislabeling them. Now, for low speed drops, stalls, and those kind of dumb mistakes, they work a bit better. They bend the moment any weight is on them, but you can bend them back with a foot and your actual bike never tips over completely. ... show more

Crash bars were installed in under an hour. They look really good and they don’t take away from the look of the Rebel at all. They’re not very big but provide enough coverage for the pricey to repair parts. My wife has little feet so they don’t interfere with her feet placement either. I say this because she has forward controls which allows her to stretch her legs a bit. She’s 5’4” if that helps. I hope to never have to test them. If she does, we will provide an update. They look good, seem very strong and fit my 2022 Rebel 1100 cmx just fine. Strong, looks good and a great price. So guess what, a week after I installed these, I dropped my bike for the first time. I was leaning over to pick something off the floor at full stop in my garage and leaned too far and lost it. The bars worked great! Held the bike at about a 45 degree angle so the mirrors and levers were high off the garage floor. Bars got scratched. Touched it up with a little black nail polish and looks fine. I did notice however that the end of the bar where it attaches to the bike bent in such that the guard bar was within a couple of inches of the foot break lever. I popped it a few times with sledge hammer and 4x4 stud and its back in place. So, great if you drop your bike, but I don't think you can count on any engine guards in an actual crash. ... show more

    • Worth it to protect your bike

So glad I bought this. Already tested it when I dropped my bike. Scraped the underside of the engine guard, but it saved my brake pedal, foot peg, and body. I also have an exhaust slider so none of the bike was on the ground. And with this, I can pick up my bike more easily after a spill. It's small enough not to get in the way but big enough to add a good amount of protection ... show more
