  • Choke control installed wrong
Electronic choke control was out of its socket with a bent metal frame that held it in place. Just had to flatten the frame back and reinsert it.

  • Direct replacement Ruckus 2003
My original carb did not have a fuel drain hose, this does, but other than that it was a direct replacement. I had to adjust the air/gas mixture screw and throttle idle screw to set it properly. No more waiting for the engine to warm up to open full throttle, now it start and run beautifully. Cheaper than buying replacement parts and no need to open the old carb again. Good product! ... show more

  • Pretty Amazing
Crazy you can get this thing so cheap. I replaced the carb on a 2003 Ruckus that had been sitting for years. So far this thing works great and the price isn't much more than new jets would cost for the old carb. The design is almost identical and the quality seemed very good. Go for it.

  • If he was stolen three times you got something else going on.
I've rebuilt carburetors from my Metropolitan and my ruckus. They ran okay. My wife's Metropolitan was faster than my ruckus probably cuz I have a few pounds on her. Although this Parts not OEM, if you install it right new spark plug and fuel filter you will get about 4 mph faster out of it. And if you change the belt I guarantee you'll get a few miles an hour faster out of it. I'm not a mechanic by no means but I am troubleshooter. I just ordered another one for the Metropolitan. But I may have put my foot in my mouth but I don't think I did. I got 15,000 miles on my ruckus. Already put a set of tires on it. It's a great machine. But even does well out in the Everglades for Florida and the soft sand. If any of you remember behind the 50 back in the day we all wanted one. Now we got a lazy Honda 50 which means it's automatic no more shifting I'm getting old. I also have 1968 dune buggy with a 1600 in it. I replaced 1100. Still got some tweaks to do but not being a mechanic I can pull that motor unless than 2 hours. This carburetor comes with a cleaning kit it's well worth the deal after working on it tonight I worked morning tonight a Ruckus runs better than new I'm actually shocked. It's amazing what they're worth now from what I paid for it in 2008. I use mine as a miniature truck. My whole 2x4s groceries, furring strips. I even want to bet that I can pick up 15 bags of ice for my buddy's bar.. that was back in 2009. The great machines. After I put this carburetor in being in Fort Lauderdale which is a little cold tonight she ran like a champ. I do need a spark plug because I keep cleaning this spark plug that's been in there for 15,000 miles. By the way I had a heart attack in 2008 and Aflac bought those two scooters for me and my wife. Take my truck load them up Fort Myers we had the greatest time in the world go to Key West and that's all you drive 80 miles to the gallon. ... show more

  • Buy this Carburetor.
Previous owner of my 2006 Ruckus fancied himself a mechanic and altered the diaphragm spring and jet needle length on the carburetor. The scooter would start just fine, purr like a kitten at idle and sputter and chug from 3/4 throttle beyond. Spark plug would end up black and full of soot. Top speed was 32. I went down to a 70 main jet, results were the same. I bought this carb, swapped the 75 for a 72 main and adjusted the fuel mixture screw out 2.5 turns. I'm at 5,300 feet. The scooter now runs like a bat out of hell. Top speed is 43 GPS verified. All the trinkets that come with the carb are worthless. Oh, and the fellow whining about this carburetor frying your ECM, utter nonsense. When the key is off, there is no power going to the TPS or anything else for that matter. ... show more

  • It works
I bought a carburetor once before off Amazon for a 4 wheeler had no luck. I almost didn't get this one because of that bud glad I did. You don't even need to reset the ECM. Turn the key on and off a couple times to prime you should be all set.

  • DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY, and do computer reset
So thanks to No directions i Fried my scooters wireing or computer. ANYTIME u disconnect any electrical ANYTHING on ur ruckus u must do a reset so the ecu can relearn where all the sensors are theres one that connects to this carb and i was unaware it would start and run poorly due to unplugging sensors and the new carb wasnt programed to the ecu. By the time we figured that out ecu started smoking and wires melted SOMEWHERE (havent found where yet) ... show more
