  • Worked for what I needed it for
Needed a mag drill to drill umpteen holes in 3/8 plate. After the 5th hole boring 2" diameter hole the tang on the shank broke, contacted the company and after a couple emails they sent a whole new unit, mind you I just asked for a replacement shank. The unit is definitely not setup for 2" holes as the rotation is too dam fast, you have to fight yourself while feeding it. Once the bit bites it wants to thread into the plate. Maybe gear it down a tad bit, or offer a gear to reduce the speed. Just make sure the coolant flow is wide open and have a squirter bottle to periodically clear the cut of debris. Other than the extreme workout needed to prevent destroying the machine and the work it is a pretty handy lil heavy tool. The magnet has yet to kickout on me, and YOU CAN START THE DRILL WITHOUT THE MAG ENGAGED, just a lil heads up so always use the safety rope. Even for just one hole, accidents are never planned ... show more

  • works good
Alot of the reviews I saw on this product were saying that not everything arrived or the magnet was weak and the bore was the wrong size so I just wanted to put my two cents in. Everthing that was supposed to come did, there were no missing parts and it was in good shape. The thing with these magnets is the thicker the material the better grip it has I would not use it on anything less than 1\2 in. when it is on a sufficient surface like .5" you ain't budgin it. The bore is the correct size I can put .75" annular cutters in and it works great. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I don't like the coolant system, it works and is built well, I just don't like the flow adjustment knob, it's to hard to fine tune, but that's kinda being nit-picky. The customer service is awesome I have bought from them before and they were very helpful and polite and if anything is wrong or missing they will take care of it. All in all it is very much worth the price and I'm glad I bought it. ... show more

  • Not real happy yet can't use it yet.
Arrived early, yeah. But there was no hose for the lube reservoir to the drill head. Can't use it yet. The manual does not list the specs for model drill, but they are on the side of the drill housing. The picture shows a metal reservoir but mine is cheap plastic. The manual also states that there is a three month warranty, but no contact info. What the heck. What tube or hose should be used from the reservoir to the drill head? Update. Customer service has been working on a replacement part and they truly seem concerned that I am happy with this purchase. Unfortunately this product comes from the Asian shelf so it may take some time to get to me. I'll update as things progress. ... show more

  • 100% as described
This is 100% as described. I paid $209 and it was exactly as expected. The oiler was stainless, had hoses, and all other items as described, that others have mentioned were missing. This is as good as a Milwaukee but roughly 15% of the price. I had historically used Milwaukee and have purchased 2 in the past and these are every bit as good. One item to mention that others I feel have incorrectly stated or misunderstood. The magnet is more than adequate, but you do have to connect it to an adequate amount of metal for the drill to hold to. In some of the pics and comments, it seems people may not be familiar with these drills and the metal required to anchor the magnetic base. This is really good and comes with a Weldon connection which was a $75 adder on my last Milwaulkee. Thanks for a great drill. ... show more

  • Best Budget Mag Drill
The media could not be loaded. Bought this Mag drill specifically to drill 1" holes through 3/16 plate for a project I was working on and it worked perfectly. The magnet base is strong, the motor is strong. The chuck is nice and holds the annular cutter tight with 2 allen bolts. It has a cutting oil reservoir on it that will oil your cutters nicely throughout the cut. Handles come off for easy packing and transporting. I highly recommend spending the money to get good annular cutters, that's really what it comes down too. My drill will drill up to 2" holes and so far it has performed that with no problem. I've used it for ⅛ steel plate all the way up too ⅝ plate so far . I highly recommend this Mag drill if your looking for one 👍🏻 ... show more

  • Mophorn 980W Magnetic Dril
Build quality is ok... However... I have bought thousands things (some questionable) over the last 15 years from amazon, and this being the worse of them all. First off, the drill chuck... do not let it fool you.. If you are buying this drill and plan on using some standard twist drills bits, like a 1/2 or even 3/4.. You'll find out the drill does not lift high enough to use that bit.. You will have to cut the end of drill bit off by 2 inches and grind a new tip just to get this to work. Second... the magnet on this drill is really weak.. And I mean I have old electric magnets and magnets from speakers that would put this drill magnet to shame. When you place about 20 pounds of down pressure on the tip of the drill bit, the magnet fails to hold it down to the steel plate. Put it this way.. I used a 3/16 drill bit and put a little pressure down on it and the drill magnet popped loose.. It doesn't have enough downforce to even break a 3/16 or 1/8 twist drill bit.. I have another mag drill, an older one that has enough downforce to snap 1/2 drill bits in half without even trying.. Is this drill worth $300 or less?.. I would say absolutely not.. A fair price for this drill is about 120 dollars. ... show more
