Some reviewers said this was made by a third party; however, the product I received was made by Montblanc in Japan. It writes as well as other Montblanc replacement cartridges I have used. Don't know about the longevity because I haven't used it enough to determine that.

The Mont Blanc Rollerball Refills write so nicely. It's just that they don't last long at all. If they were to write half as long as the ballpoint refills they would be wonderful.

I ordered a pair of the refills via Amazon for the convenience & speed factor, it was in fact about the same price as from Montblanc. First of the pair worked beautifully initially, but after few pages worth of writing, started skipping and stopped altogether after another page. Sadly had same experience from the other refill in the package, a few pages of writing and dead. I wound up re-ordering direct from the Montblanc corporate website. I compared the refills from Amazon to the Montblanc direct and found exact and consistent full 1/2 gram difference in weight between the replacements and the original set (each refill 1/2g difference, not the pair). ... show more
