Put it on my ruger 10/22. I don’t care about the colors. The sight picture is clear and I gave it dialed in. Fun scope. Not sure about putting it on a bigger gun as it’s an inexpensive scope.

I bought this after returning the Alpha version of the 1-4x24 scope also by monstrum. That one felt very well made and the overall optical quality was good, but it wasn't illuminated, and worse, that one was absolutely filled with dust. It was totally usable but it looked nasty. This one is better in every way. The glass is nice and clear and sharp, I can see a hint of chromatic aberration when zoomed to 4x but you really gotta look for it. The packaging was nice, and the fit and finish is good, no blemishes. Most importantly I don't see any dust at all, even with the illumination on. If I had to say anything negative, the illumination could be brighter, but it is fine. Also, the included scope rings are adequate but the screws feel a bit crunchy when you tighten them down. It is fine, but could feel better. I had already bought the single piece monstrum mount and that one feels a little bit better, but then again the screws also feel slightly crunchy, but the overall build is a bit nicer. Anyway, I'm sure other scopes will easily crush this one, but this one feels like a good buy for the money, and it is a significant step up from their cheaper models. (The cheaper model honestly wasn't that bad, but the step up in quality for this one is well worth the extra fifty bucks) Update - Just spent a few hours at the range with this, and I'm very happy with it. It dialed in very nicely, and it was easy to see and to use. It's definitely more accurate than I am at this point, so overall I continue to be very satisfied. ... show more

It seems the manufacturer has solved the issue with debris in the tube as the unit I received is perfectly clear. As others have mentioned the illumination is low in direct sunlight and shows up great in lower light. The included sunshade is a nice touch. It doesn't obscure the view from the scope, just reduces glare. Haven't mounted it yet and will not use the included scope rings. I have a set of 30mm cantilever scope rings from monstrum I plan to use. (I recommend these rings, they hold zero on my large caliber 20" barreled rifle) I expect this scope to hold up to .223/5.56 as i have several optics from budget lines that hold up just fine including on a 7.62x39. I am curious how the guy shooting 450 bushmaster fared with this scope though. Will update once I mount, zero, and test fire with this scope. Scope mounted and zero'd without an issue. Holds zero well. I do recommend having someone assist and spot for you when dialing it in at 100yds. I manged to get a "battle" zero with just the scope itself, though needed more magnification for a precision zero. ... show more

My scope does not seem to have a green illumination as it is stated to have. It has red, but regardless of which direction you turn the dial, there is no green. UPDATED This is my initial impression of the G3 1-4x24 scope - just to be clear, I have not fired this weapon with the optic mounted but I felt inclined to clarify a few things mentioned in previous reviews. Clarity of glass is impressive (not just for the price point) and there is ZERO debris inside the tube. Eye relief is also quite generous. Reticle is very easy to see and not too busy. The illumination is nice in low light and moderate sun but is mostly useless in direct sunlight. Turrets are designed very well and are made with brass internals. Very impressed with how they function (read the manual). The magnification adjustment ring has just the right amount of tension and moves very smoothly. Overall first impression of this piece is that it is VERY much worth the money and I probably would have still been pleased with it for twice the cost. The real test for this optic will be the sighting and subsequent abuse it takes from my .450BM pistol. I will update this review after I put some rounds under it. UPDATE: 09/26/20 Fired 100rds of .450bm after sighting this in and it’s holding up well. No issues that I can tell. Extremely impressed for the money. ... show more
