  • Amazed at price to performance.
Style: Black | MX1 Reticle
Scope is amazing for the price. It has a very small glass defect on 1x but by 2x the defect is already out of sight and everything else has amazing clarity. The scope outside had a few cosmetic scratches on the black paint but nothing you would notice unless you were looking for it. The light isn't super bright but is more than enough for low light conditions and daylight shooting as long as you aren't looking directly into the sun. Scope is solid in place on my rail after hundreds of rounds and it's easy to adjust ranges and zoom. The focus adjusts itself as you zoom. I'd 100% recommend for anyone that wants a budget or intro LPVO ... show more

  • Package dropped during shipping process
Style: Black | MX1 Reticle
Received the scope today and after removing it from the Amamzon shipping container it appears that the item was dropped at some point before it got inside the Amazon shipping container and finally received by me. After inspecting the item I found it to have some type of residue around the magnification dial (cleaned off without spotting or blemishing the coating). There are a few small blemishes with the coating on the scope body and scratched coating of the scope mount. Further inspection shows that the "zero" marks on both the windage and elevation are off by 1/4 MOA and that means something when dialing in the scope. I was really excited to be investing in and receiving this type of scope (LPVO) for the very first time but am very disappointed by what I received and how I received it. I purchased this new and had requested Amazon to replace the item without me having to go through the refund process, then wait for a refund to deposit, reorder and wait for it to be shipped and received (hopefully not in the same condition). These issues with the item are all controllable and should have been throughout the process prior to being shipped all the way to the end user. So at this point I'm really just going to send this item back without being able to check it's functionality on the range. Unboxing was already an unsatisfactory experience. After watching the couple of reviews about this particular item and the product line, I was really excited and looking forward to this and that's not the case now. 7/16/2023 Update I took a deep breathe and cancelled the return because my time is more valuable than going through this whole ordeal again. So here's what I did. 1. Removed the residue with industrial cleaning wipes (for auto, home, projects & hands). 2. Covered/filled the scratches so that they can't be easily seen (will paint the entire weapon, so I'm letting that issue marinate). 3. Mounted and leveled the scope onto the weapon. 4. Took the weapon to the range and zeroed initially at 50 yards then moved to 100 yards for final zeroing. The zeroing was easy and went very well. The glass is remarkably clear and I must say that the scope was incredibly easy sighting in! So outside the preliminary issues, I am satisfied with keeping the scope because Monstrum has a pretty good warranty plan which helps take the sting away. The functionality of the scope is awesome and I would recommend this scope to any gun enthusiast. Just be careful of the shipping process because someone dropped the item before it was packaged in the amazon box to finally ship to me. Because I cannot prove who did it prior to me receiving the item.......I wanted to see (outside the cosmetic quality) how the scope would perform and I wasn't disappointed but very pleased! ... show more

  • On my 742 30-06
Style: Flat Dark Earth | BDC B1 Reticle
I mounted this on my 742 30-06 Remington for heavy brush hunting in souther Missouri. I've only had the chance to sight it in and shoot another 20 rds through it. ( Oh darn I just hate shooting extra rounds. NOT LOL.) The glass is clear, the lighted reticals work great, and very easy to set magnification. Had the sights set with in about 8 rounds. This scope tank is built like a tank. When Illinois weather breaks I'll put more round down range and see if she holds up. For now I give it 5 Stars. ... show more

  • Great for the money
Style: Black | MX1 Reticle
I've got some higher quality scopes like Vortex Vipers and others in the same price category ($700-$1000). This will not be as good as those. But do you really need a scope as good as those for normal use? No. The main difference is glass clarity and eye relief. Both of which isn't a huge issue for me because I've got better than 20/20 vision anyways and my eye relief when aiming is always consistent. The main draw of extremely high end optics is how durable they are. This scope is plenty durable for any civilian and could be used in a SHTF situation with relative confidence. For the money it's great and if you want to get in on LPVOs for cheap, this is a solid choice. 1-10 is hard to find at this value. The 1x is very close if not a true 1x. Illumination IS NOT daylight bright but would work well for low light situations. Lifetime warranty should give you some peace of mind as well. ... show more

  • Good, not great
Style: Black | MX1 Reticle
As budget 1-10 LPVO's go, this is good, but it's not great. The eye relief is good from 1-4x, at 5x it get's tight and above 7x it's super tight. I cannot get a good focus at all above 7x regardless of where the diopter is set from all the way in to all the way out (and everywhere in between). Monstrum has, generally, been great. I've got a couple of other of their scopes and am happy. This one isn't great beyond, really, 1-6x (and yes, I have the 1-6x Banshee and it's much better than this one at substantially less cost). I ordered a 1-10x Monstrum Spectre directly from their website which should be here any day. Hopefully it works much better than the Banshee model. I'll keep it, but, it's going in the backup for now optics box. ... show more

  • Awesome rifle scope for bugout!!
Style: Black | MX1 Reticle
I recently installed the scope on my AR 15 10.5-inch pistol and am amazed at the accuracy. The highest power on the scope reaches about 600 yards. While a round from the AR 10.5-inch pistol will probably not reach that far out, it is still great to have an optic that can. This is great for bug out or SHTF conditions where instant magnification is crucial. If a red dot and a traditional rifle scope had a baby, it would be this LPVO. ... show more
